We arrived by water taxi from Noumea, it takes around 30 minutes. Lovely journey. Place on arrival looks like paradise. The whole resort is owned by Double Tree Hilton exclusively. There’s nothing else in the island except the resort and a beautiful beach with turtles and sea creatures. The little bungalows are adorable, some in the water, others on the resort. On arrival, whilst I was waiting to check in, I had a great massage in the spa by a Thai girl. However, the service is lacking, and the food was pretty diabolical, which is such a shame because this place is Paradise.

We have been overclassed en apartment une chambre au lieu du studio et passé une nuit reposée malgré le bruit de la climatisation portable car celle de l'appartement était en panne. Very practical you’ don’t need towels or necessary to shower, everything you are provided. Excelente e impresionante vista sobre el océano. Acceso a tiendas, tiendas y restaurantes situados justo abajo del hotel y a los alrededores.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious, if a bit tired and reasonably clean, not more than that, but after all - you come here for the location. The staff - mostly friendly, but quite laid back. The swimming pool in the photo is a masterpiece of perspective - in reality it's probably just a kids paddle pool and a nice photo op for dinner. The beach is the best part - make sure you snorkel on the left end, over the coral reef, and if you kayak over the bay (”rental” is free, which somehow they don't tell you upfront) you will see plenty of turtles. Everything is overpriced, especially the food: I didn't try the breakfasts, the packed lunch was OK, dinner would have been OK for a home-style dinner, but certainly not what I would have expected for the price and pomp that were involved. I wanted to dine at the next-door gite's restaurant, but couldn't get hold of them over the phone (should have just walked over to book - it's literally next door), so I ended up eating 2 dinners at the resort - grossly overpaid. For lunch - you can easily walk over to the Nautilus restaurant on the next beach over, even without booking. It's not a lunch to write home about but also not that grossly overpriced. For activities: definitely go to the ”Natural pool”, but make sure you ask for all the information when you book - they don't volunteer any information... You must bring your snorkelling kit, closed shoes for walking, water-shoes, food and water and probably best to ask for a map of how to get to the pool and where to meet the shuttle afterwards before you leave the hotel. Going there on the ”traditional pirogue” is nice but not a must. It's very long and monotonous. You could take the shuttle to the same destination. Overall the snorkelling at the resort and at the ”natural pool” were the best I had in NC - far better than the other little islands you reach on water taxis from Noumea.

Just had a lovely week long stay at Le Lagon Stayed in a suite Anse vata street side. Got a good deal on Agoda. Would upgrade the suite next time as it was a bit noisy outside. Would definitely stay again though. Positives: good size, clean, pleasantly presented, huge comfortable bed Great location - we ate breakfast at the l’atelier bakery down the road and got their filled rolls for lunch - amazing value. Was also 2 stores that sold alcohol and food. Beach was lovely Swimming pool nice - great sun beds and temp not too warm Negatives: No toaster, no sharp knives in kitchen. No wine glasses No shampoo conditioner etc - only pump soap provided Bath tubb painted - needs replacing. Difficult to climb in and out of for shower if have mobility issues No door on icebox freezer so took ages to freeze water Advice: If on budget eat at bakery and picnic it. Buy Brie and pate from the stores nearby for snacks. Store next to bakery has the better wine selection. Being a chilly bin/esky and water bottles to freeze for day trips There are no nighttime buses from lemon bay - was a bit nervous to do the walk at night do we only ate lunch at lemon bay - go to Babar cafe Anse vata restaurants v expensive. Avoid Le tripica (tiny portions). Casa Italia great but needs booking. Pizza and pasta does huge pizzas can share. Vietnamese Along Beach good. Go to duck island. If not doing yellow boat deck hair package 2500 get the 1000 grey boat and go to the left of island for nice sand to sit on. Great snorkelling. Can snorkel off rocks (climb down) in lemon bay Maître island bit disappointing / poor snorkelling, no turtles Hang out at beach in evening with the locals - really nice vibe

La primera visita a Noumea después de quedarse en Hilton Le Promenade hace unos 4 años, al principio, en un dormitorio estándar, hemos modernizado para una habitación de vistas al océano. El hotel es agradable y limpio, las habitaciones están bien y las camas son bastante duras, es bueno que se encuentran en el sitio, una tienda de conveniencia en el sitio sería realmente bueno dada la naturaleza que se encuentra en el sitio. Había sólo un canal de televisión inglés (BBC World) Internet era muy limitado en el apartamento de una habitación (256mb al día) y luego costó, 30gb en la vista del océano. No pudo nadar debido a los recientes ataques de tiburones que cerraron playas y piscina parecía ser refrigerado, era manera de quedarse en cualquier más de 5 a 7 minutos que era realmente decepcionante dado que la playa estaba fuera de límites. La habitación era muy buena y se podía solicitar cada día si fuera necesario. El escritorio frontal podría hacer realmente con un escritorio turístico y ofrecer servicios como ellos hacen en Fiji con hotel recoger etc ... realmente no parecía interesar en esta zona y el nuevo brazo turístico caledoniano necesita para darse cuenta de los otros países del Pacífico son camino La habitación está muy bien, con una vista limpia y hermosa desde la habitación 420.
