The hotel smelled of damp. There was a smell of cigarettes everywhere. The toilet seat was not refilled and we ran out of paper. The room light was dim. It didn't get any brighter. It wasn't good at all.

As an american traveling through Inner Mongolia with my chinese partner and her mom, this was my first time staying in a traditional yurt and honestly it ended up being one of the most memorable parts of our trip and my first ever trip to China! The power went out on our first night because of an annual power inspection and it lasted longer than expected. After a long day of traveling i was definitely disappointed because i had been looking forward to taking a shower and relaxing for the night. Even though the outage was completely outside the hosts' control, they did everything they could to make us comfortable! They brought us lights, checked on us several times and kept us updated on the situation via WeChat. By the end of the trip, what stood out to me wasnt the outage itself, but how hard everyone there worked to take care of us. They went above and beyond to make up for the power outage inconvenience. They treated us to horseback riding, paid for lunch and paid for afternoon tea which we greatly appreciated. By the next day i wasnt even thinking about the outage anymore because we were having such a great time. Their kindness turned what could have been a frustrating start into a really great experience. It's easy to provide good service when everything goes according to plan but it's much harder when something goes wrong and in this situation, the hosts exceeded our expectations. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming and attentive. Whenever we were eating, they were always nearby in case we needed anything and they consistently made us feel taken care of throughout our stay. One of my favorite memories was feeding the young sheep! It seems like a simple activity but as someone who has never had any opportunity to experience life on the grasslands, it was an experience I'll always cherish. I loved being able to experience the beautiful scenery and slower pace of life out here. There is also a scenic spot just a couple miles down the road with a hill you can walk up for free if you are staying at the yurts as a guest. The view from the top is absolutely incredible with endless grasslands in every direction. While staying here and driving through the area, we saw hundreds if not thousands of horses, cows and sheep across the landscape which made the whole experience feel even more special!! Also, the fried beef meal was so good I had to order it twice. And the snacks with the afternoon tea were also yummy. They provide all the toiletries you need as well as several bottles of water daily. There is both air condition and heat which helped during this time of year as the room would get very hot during the day and cold at night. The way the yurts light up at night is beautiful. Thank you so much for your hospitality and for sharing this beautiful part of Inner Mongolia with us. I'm definitely not one to leave reviews but this stay was worth taking the time to write one. We left with great memories and i would gladly stay here again! highly recommended!

El hotel está ubicado en la pradera de Chilechuan, cerca de una granja de caballos y junto a un gran picadero. Primero, lo positivo: las habitaciones son espaciosas, con un gran balcón. El lado cercano a la granja de caballos ofrece vistas panorámicas de la pradera. El gerente que nos atendió fue amable y atento. Lo negativo: el desayuno era pésimo. Mi hijo tuvo que pagar 98 yuanes por un desayuno gratuito. Era simplemente insoportable quejarse, como en cualquier hotel económico promedio. Las comodidades de la habitación estaban mal diseñadas. Aunque podría haber sido un hotel con estrellas, parecía un hotel boutique. A menos que tengas un itinerario específico para las praderas y montar a caballo, no recomendaría este lugar. Es demasiado remoto.

Sheyi Tea Culture hotel was an amazing stay, definitely a must stay if visiting Hohhot! Food & Drink 🫖 This hotel is also a tea house and it is a tea drinker’s dream! First the room a booked came with my own tea brewing equipment and a tea brewing table with an excellent view and comfortable seats! But that is just the beginning, as you head down to the main floor a fully stocked, beautiful tea house & cafe awaits you. Daily tea and even delicious milk tea is always available. Private table sets and outdoor seating is available too. The tea masters are skilled and attentive, which made all my tea drinking experiences fun and enjoyable! You can also purchase various tea and tea ware right in the tea house. Location 📍 This hotel is perfectly located close to the near by Ancient Street, with many close by temples and shrines to visit. A craft street is close by and available all day, while a famous local food street opens up for colourful night time snacking in the evening. Many close by restaurants offering authentic local cuisine, I recommend reading the hotel’s recommendations as they were always great. If you need even more tea experience, there is a nearby tea wholesale market and many high end tea house in the area as well. The Room 🛌 The room I stayed in had lots of space, was very clean and had everything you could need to feel comfortable. Daily bathroom necessities are provided. High quality bedding, robes and slippers are waiting for you. High end bathroom equipment is installed, with hot water always available. Premium television is set up and Wifi connection always had high speeds. A beautiful kettle and tea set can be used to make tea with daily water and a welcome tea package provided. Staff 👩⚕️ The staff were very king and helpful right from check in. Actually even before check in they were helping bring my luggage inside! They were patient with communication as I was a foreign visitor. They answered any and all questions I had. They recommended great tea and amazing restaurants! The staff were always available and always smiling! Such great people really made my stay a dream. This was probably the nicest hotel I have stayed in and I definitely would recommend it to anyone visiting Hohhot! I will be back again for sure.

Having been to many countries, I considered myself a seasoned traveler. This is the most outstanding and luxurious accommodation that I have ever been to and I cannot recommend it enough.  A bright and airy, and sparkling clean place in the midst of Wulanmaodu grasslands. The scenery is so serene and peaceful.  Each room is full of personal and thoughtful touches. Even the tissue container was so cute and made from tweed sourced from Scotland. The restaurant and common area was tastefully decorated and great for photography.  Next, the people who work there are thoughtful, kind and generous. Xiao Yan and Xiao Kong really brought things to the next level with service. We got to the hotel late at around 9:30 pm. The entire staff was waiting for us at the door and helped us with bags. There was even a warm, sweet soup to welcome us in the hotel room. I couldn’t figure out how to turn off an alarm that I accidentally activated in the middle of the night. The staff showed up immediately after I called to turn it off. They provided excellent recommendations for local sights and services. Their service is definitely 10/10. The free breakfast served at the restaurant is better than any 5 star hotel. Healthy, thoughtfully crafted food, but also true to Inner Mongolian roots. We looked forward to eating there every day.  Also very family friendly establishment. My 5 year old daughter asked if we could move there permanently.  I did not want to leave. Do yourself a favor and book this hotel. You will not be sorry. Look forward to trip of a lifetime. It’s what heaven looks like.

We stayed here to enjoy the unobstructed view of the volcano and to experience the space-themed rooms. Visiting during the low season at the end of March, we didn't expect to be the only guests, but despite that, we received exceptional treatment. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was beautifully prepared, and the staff were friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating. The night views were absolutely spectacular and truly made our trip memorable. Although the location is about 1.5 hours from town, we were glad we chose this place for its unique charm and stunning scenery. We would wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow travelers visiting the area. Additionally, there's a large spa / hot springs just a few meters away to relax and make the stay extra special! Again, would highly recommend.

Reservé este hotel basándome en las reseñas de otros huéspedes. Es un hotel bastante agradable que ofrece té de la tarde y desayuno. Las habitaciones no olían a tabaco, lo cual fue realmente bueno. Las toallas y las sábanas estaban limpias y blancas. El colchón es cómodo. El desayuno buffet tenía una buena selección. La recepción hablaba inglés y mongol. La ubicación está un poco lejos de todo, pero en recepción te ayudan con un taxi, así que no hay problema. Un par de comentarios: - El hotel no proporcionaba albornoces. - Tenedores y cuchillos (cubiertos). No todos los que no son chinos saben usar palillos. Ahora, algunas cosas que la administración del hotel debe corregir: - Reservamos una habitación familiar. Durante el día estuvo bastante bien hasta que por la noche quisimos dormir. Una tira de luces debajo del lavabo estuvo parpadeando toda la noche. La luz se encendía unos 30 segundos, se apagaba 3 segundos y volvía a encenderse. ¡Y así siguió toda la noche! Eso afectó mucho nuestro sueño. ¡El hotel necesita arreglar la iluminación! Se lo comenté en recepción, aunque no estoy seguro de si lo tuvieron en cuenta al hacer el check-out. El té de la tarde me pareció un detalle amable. Nos dijeron que estaba disponible de 14:00 a 20:00. Fuimos sobre las 16:00 y no nos habían reabastecido los bocadillos. Había una galleta seca, un trozo de tarta que parecía que alguien se había comido la mitad, un par de mandarinas maduras, nada más. Pero teníamos una buena selección de té, café y zumos. Aunque lo ofrecieron gratis, parecía que estábamos comiendo las sobras de alguien y no nos sentimos bien.

All staff that we met were very friendly. We made some complaints on the smell of cigarette and they quickly arranged for us to check another room and helped us change rooms. I appreciate the quick response. They sent the new key up with a robot. The breakfast selection is good and there’s a supermarket, bakery, and cafe located at the hotel.

Amazing place! Amazing hosts! Amazing team! Amazing service! The Aershan Guiye Homestay (阿尔山归野宿集民宿) is a beautiful little boutique hotel where nothing is missing: the rooms are gorgeous and spotlessly clean, and the team is incredibly friendly and helpful. A real highlight is the delicious tea ceremony – the perfect way to end the evening while sharing stories. The hosts make it so easy to feel at home! If you need help organizing your trip, you can fully rely on the hotel team – simply fantastic. The Aershan Guiye Homestay (阿尔山归野宿集民宿) is located right by the riverside promenade and close to the city center. There’s nothing better than strolling back to the hotel after an iced hotpot, across the town square and along the river – highly recommended! If you’re stopping in Aershan, you should definitely stay at the Aershan Guiye Homestay (阿尔山归野宿集民宿). We would come back anytime – and we already miss our wonderful hosts!
