My final stay was at the Mercure Haikou City Center. I booked a Deluxe room, which was clean and functional.
The staff were friendly and even helped us check out from the previous hotel. The location was excellent, with easy access to parks and malls. The room came with a bidet, which was a nice touch, and the bed was comfortable.
However, the air conditioner was weak, and since we couldn’t open the window fully, we had to sleep without blankets.
Overall, for the price and space, I can’t complain. It’s a great hotel for city explorers who just need a place to bathe and sleep. There are plenty of food and shopping options within walking distance, and you can easily rent a bicycle to explore Evergreen Park, Century Park, and even Qilou Old Street.

The hotel has fresh, quiet, and spacious rooms. Good wifi. The ladies at the reception do not speak English but help to book a taxi with a translator. The breakfast is Chinese and relatively poor. But it was for free. Overall a nice stay.

Neat and funky, modern with some techy stuff. Bed was very comfortable, pillow was less ideal but suffices. Big room and spacious rest area which I like. The sound proofing was pretty decent so you don't hear the train passing by or the traffic noise, that is until your neighbour speaks loudly (thankfully not for long) or if someones slams the door hard (esp if you are sleeping). Great black out curtains which open on its own when you remove the key from its space and closes when you're stick it in (think it depends on how you set it before you leave the room). Bathroom was also splendid. As was the nespresso coffee- great for waking me up.
A very comfortable place of rest until the final night- we were told that the sensor malfunctioned, waking us up in the middle of the night- curtains opening on its own, air-conditioning suddenly switching off (no we didn't change any settings for that to happen), lights turning on all of a sudden.
All good otherwise.

Hotel overall vibe is very zen. The room is super spacious and clean with facial cleanser provided. Hotel was very nice to contact me personally to ask when was my bf birthday and they provided a whole mini cake. Breakfast is very simple, not the typical american style BUT the noodles with the minced meat is good. Also like the mini mangoes during breakfast.

La ubicación del hotel es relativamente remota en la isla. Está cerca del distrito de negocios, por lo que hay mucha gente. El servicio de recepción no es malo. Tal vez era temporada baja, por lo que casi no había gente allí.

La habitación tiene aire acondicionado. ¿Esto obliga a la gente a ir al baño a comer?

The hotel was very nice and staff very friendly They upgraded my room upon arrival. Breakfast was great. There was 2-3 restaurants in the resort area to choose from and food was good, plus served nicely. However hotel was a little far from beach and other services, around 4-5km. And no good public pool for swimming either.

First and foremost, the location of the hotel is fantastic. Situated close to various amenities, I found myself just a short walk away from restaurants, shops, and local attractions. Whether I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat or explore the city's vibrant culture, everything was easily accessible. This convenience truly enhanced my overall experience, making it effortless to immerse myself in the local atmosphere.
One of the standout features of the hotel was its friendly and English-speaking staff. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the front desk staff who were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They provided me with detailed information about the hotel facilities, nearby attractions, and even recommended some must-visit places in Haikou. Throughout my stay, the staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met, making me feel valued as a guest.

YYaLenkaHi everyone! The hotel is a little bit old, but it's nice, clean and the staff is very friendly, although almost everybody didn't speak English.
- The breakfast was quite appropriate for a foreigner: fried eggs, french fries, cereal, coffee from a coffee machine, some fried chicken with vegetables, some kinds of steamed and baked buns, watermelon and melon, cherry tomatoes and lettuce with some salad dressings.
- The room is clean, the hotel provides shampoo, shower gel, and lotion, a hairdryer, two cups, two glasses, some teabags, bottled water, and fresh towels every day. There were two bathrobes and towels for the beach with a bag where you can put your towel. We have been living in three different rooms because at first, we came for 2 days and lived in a comfortable room with a garden view 2408 on the 4th floor, it was the best room. Then we decided to move to dadonghai and after 3 days we came back to this hotel again and lived in a room with a swimming pool and a lake view 2603 on the 6th floor for 4 more days. On the last evening, two small lizards appeared in the room and we asked the staff to change the room for 1 night, they were very nice and they agreed and gave us room 1107 on the first floor with a swimming pool view, the room was for a family with a child and had some toys inside. The first two rooms had a bathtub, the third one had a shower. All three rooms were with a balcony.
- The swimming pool area is awesome, very beautiful, and clean. The deck chairs were very cozy, the swimming pool was quite clean. There are some hammocks and a swing with a lake view where you can enjoy the quietness and have a rest.
- The beachside is near, just across the road, the beach is clean, the sand is white and beautiful, and the sea is quite clean, there were some deck chairs and sunshades. You can have fun with some water activities at the beach too if you want of course.
There are not so many cafes and restaurants appropriate for foreign people except Subway, McDonald's, Starbucks, KFC, and Pizza Hut. If there were a little bit more western food cafes close to the beachside, I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
If you want to have a lazy and quiet holiday you should go there and relax!

MMarissaG1109We only stayed here one night (we were visiting Yanoda Rainforest Park) and we were pretty tired from the day’s activities so we weren’t able to get a strong impression of the property.
However, it did seem quite nice compared to some other places in the area, and the on-site restaurant was a plus. All of the buildings look fairly new and the style of the rooms is neat. We saw a pool on the first floor, but it’s not clear if it was a private pool or accessible to all guests. There are some small shops in the compound selling drinks and snacks that are open pretty late.
A plus of this property is that it’s close to the park, though you should definitely get a car to take you to the ticket office since Yanoda Park has a very long driveway at the property entrance.

DDenverV.My family and I spent one night here travelling by car around the island. The hotel is located in a picturesque place and is made in the form of a small village, so you can drive your own car directly to your apartments, it is very convenient. There are charging stations for electric vehicles including two fast ones.
The apartment has a large area and is very cosy, floor heating works in the toilet room which is very comfortable during cool weather.
We were very pleasantly surprised that at the reception there is an English-speaking employee who showed a lot of care to us. Also, in the restaurant there was an employee who speaks very good English, who also explained how to go to the orange farm, where we had a great time, collecting delicious oranges on our own.
We were very pleased with the hotel, especially the kindness of the staff. Definitely, we'll be back here on our next trip.
Мы с семьей отдыхали здесь одну ночь, путешествуя на машине по острову. Отель расположен в живописном месте и сделан в виде небольшого поселка, поэтому на собственном автомобиле можно подъехать прямо к своим апартаментам, это очень удобно. Для электромобилей есть зарядные станции, включая две быстрые.
Апартаменты имеют большую площадь и очень уютны, в туалетной комнате работает подогрев пола, что очень комфортно во время прохладной погоды.
Мы были очень приятно удивлены, что на ресепшен есть англоговорящая сотрудница, которая проявила очень много заботы в наш адрес. Также, и в ресторане была сотрудница, очень хорошо говорящая по английски, которая в том числе объяснила как проехать на апельсиновую ферму, где мы прекрасно провели время, самостоятельно собирая вкуснейшие апельсины.
Мы остались очень довольны отелем, особенно добротой персонала. Определенно, мы еще вернемся сюда во время наших следующий путешествий.

LLeanne KetGreat for a quick stay! We got in late to Haikou and wanted a convenient hotel close to the airport for the night. This place was a short, easy walk with many signs directing you exactly where to go. The check out time is also 2:00 which is so nice! This allowed us to have lunch at the food court and see some of the shops before our train to the southern part of Hainan a bit later in the afternoon.
The room is very comfortable and large with a huge bed. I would definitely stay here again.

Incluso mi exigente marido elogió este lugar.
Elogio no solo todo el ambiente del alojamiento, sino también el servicio de los chicos y chicas guapos de la recepción. Todos nos recibieron muy calurosamente. Al ver que mi esposo y yo teníamos dos hijos, nos mejoraron la habitación directamente. El té proporcionado por el hotel también estaba delicioso. También hay fotografías de viajes proporcionadas por el hotel. Es difícil tomar fotografías con un bebé, ¡pero la chica de la fotografía todavía es muy paciente y nos toma fotografías familiares! Y es bastante impresionante.

Las habitaciones son limpias y renovadas, lavabo situado en el cuarto, diseño con tapón en el sitio es bastante frío y conveniente.
Las habitaciones que tienen vistas al parque son mejores, las que se enfrentan a la espalda tienen unas vistas bastante aburridas de los antiguos edificios y techos.
El desayuno está en el centro de la ciudad.
La comida se llevó a cabo por 8.30am cuando hay muchos huéspedes del hotel.
Otro invitado le preguntó si podía levantar las hortalizas fritas, le dijeron que comiera otros alimentos disponibles.
No hay muchas opciones- sólo nueces instantáneas fritas, huevos duros envasados, sopa de almendras de mar limpia, cacahuete de almendra, patata dulce cocida, maíz de sieva lleno de arroz glutinoso, cucharas de cerdo, cucharas de cerdo, cucharas de barley, Leche de soja y naranjas cortadas locales, muchas de las cuales correron por 8.30am
Buena para un corto estancia hasta 2 DSYs y si planea explorar la ciudad en su primera viaje aquí.

Bath was wrongly fitted - sitting part at tap and window, cannot get in between bath and window.
Door to toilet says ”push”, it should be ”pull”.
Toilet automatic, heated seat. Closing before you can sit, started flushing while still sitting.
Toilet paper only for one time's use!
Room very unpractical!
No doormat when going out to balcony.
Had to ask for a clean bathmat as the shower one used to clean the floor.
Folding door with 4 clips. Only opening at bed. Curtains blowing out, nothing to hold them. No wondow to open small in bad cold weather, thus no fresh air...
No mugs/cups, only glasses. Had to ask for one.
Plugs at bed cannot hold charger with 2 pin plug, falling out. Cannot charge fully even with my 3 pin plug. Plug left of kettle also cannot charge.
Bed not really comfortable!
Duvet heavy & stiff.
No extra blanket for cold.
The hotel can use spiritus to take off the sticky stuff of stickers of manufactures of bath, as well as the dirty sticky stuff on the hand soap bottle.
You have such a beautiful place and spent a fortune here, but unfortunately some things are not practical.
