We stayed at Royal Canadian Lodge in Banff from March 26–29 with my 7-year-old daughter, and overall we had a great experience. Check-in was simple and straightforward. We arrived in the early evening, and Jason at the front desk was the most approachable and helpful hotel staff member I have ever dealt with. He remembered my daughter’s name, greeted her every day, checked in with us throughout our stay, and added little touches that made the trip feel extra special for both of us. The renovated room itself was fairly standard for a hotel room, but comfortable. Our room had two queen beds, which worked well for us. The bathroom had a shower only, with no bathtub, but that was not an issue. The pillows were big and lumpy, all 8 of the pillows in our room were too high/tall for my daughter to use comfortably. There are robes provided in the room, it would be a nice touch if they could also provide kids size robes. We had a mini fridge, coffee maker with coffee, and kettle with tea provided in the room. We ordered room service one night and tried the pulled pork poutine, which was the daily special from the restaurant. Unfortunately, it was not very good, and I would not recommend it. The TV included free cable and on-demand programming, as well as pay-per-view movies. I had brought my laptop and an HDMI cord, and we were able to connect it to the TV easily to watch our own movies. Watching on-demand, my daughter discovered The Simpsons and loved it (lol) The pool area was a big highlight for us. The pool is salt water rather than chlorine. The water itself was on the cooler side, but there was also a good-sized hot tub and a large steam room. My daughter quickly made friends with another family staying at the hotel, and the kids spent multiple hours a day in the pool together. The gym was small but functional. In the four days we were there, it was empty every time we walked by. Parking is $20 per day, which does add up. There is also free street parking behind the hotel if you are able to find a spot. One fun feature in the lobby was the robot, which the kids absolutely loved. We were told that after construction is complete, it will be delivering items to guest rooms. During our stay it moved around the lobby, told jokes, and handed out free apples. The hotel was reasonably priced compared with other options in the area. I chose it specifically for the pool setup, knowing we would be spending a lot of time there, and it worked out really well for that. Shops and restaurants on the main street were about a 10-minute walk away, or you could take the bus that stops outside the neighboring hotel for $2 per ride, with kids riding free. I would definitely stay here again in the future. The price, location, rooms, and pool make this a very family-friendly hotel option in Banff. Biggest thank you to Jason at the front desk for the spectacular service we enjoyed.

Average hotel room, average amenities. Nice pool and breakfast though. Service was extremely poor, multiple times we asked to book the airport shuttle (for the next day). They said oh sorry we haven't printed the sheet yet, as it was going to be the next month, we'll make a note of it. This happened 3 times. They even told us to come back the next morning to confirm, but it didn't happen. Seems like communication between the hotel staff is severely lacking, as are preparations for standard operations like printing a simple piece of paper for the airport shuttle 😂😂😂 We told the staff three separate times and each time, a piece of note with our room number was written. Still, that didn't work. What worked was, on the day, an hour before, we stated our request and yay they have the August schedule printed and we managed to book the shuttle! On another note (pun intended), we wanted to book because we saw on a sign that there's free shuttle. It was only the second staff who informed us that it's free booking, but the ride itself is $10CAD/person, which is fine. Management should always ensure fees are clearly stated.

Overall it was a decent stay here. Pros: -Clean room with comfortable beds -Shower had lots of hot water and good water pressure. -nice clean waterpark with helpful and friendly attendant who did not rush us at the end of the night when our young kiddo was dragging his feet to avoid having to leave - heated pools and 2 water slides made the hotel more appealing for us with having our kids along Cons: - the waterpark slides did not have enough of an angle so we couldn’t get down the slides with out having to propel ourselves at times which was odd but also nearly comical -tiny rooms especially for the price. It felt a bit cramped with the limited furniture and the kids on pull out sofa. - the bathroom door provided zero privacy from the rest of the room with no sound barrier, plus it had a “frosted” glass panel as the main part of the door so it was completely see through, and was a tiny bathroom. - no in room microwave so we missed out on being able to heat up leftover takeout from our trip to help us keep costs down and reduce waste unless my husband went hunting for one to use on the main floor, but that was quite a hike when we are on 4th floor so food was cooled right down by the time it made it back to our room. - ordering from the menu at the onsite breakfast restaurant was expensive and the food was quite disappointing. My kids seemed to enjoy the breakfast buffet at least which was free for 5 & under at least.

Estaba una noche mientras asistimos al concierto Burton Cummings allí. Habiendo hecho esta misma rutina para asistir a conciertos varias veces en los años, me siento que las habitaciones parecen un poco fechadas y tienen un sentimiento habitual para ellos por el precio. Realmente se pierden las ofertas donde se puede comprar como paquete para la habitación y los billetes de concierto junto con el desayuno a un precio justo.

5 star hotel. I would recommend anyone to stay here. Friendly service, parking is free, there is EV charging but I didn’t ask if free. The hotel heated pool & gym is open until 11:00 PM too. They give you free bus pass to get to downtown etc which is just 20 minute walk to

Me gustaba mi estancia en el Deerfoot Inn & Casino. Mi viaje fue para atrapar con mi hermana y atrapar nuestras vidas. La habitación de la reina deluxe era espaciosa y bienvenida. Encontré una pintura en la hoja superior cuando el capuchón de la tapa cayó. El hotel está muy bien, pero no es muy agradable. El hotel está muy bien situado, pero no es muy agradable. Puedo sugerir que actualicen los muebles como he notado a otros invitados mayores que tienen el mismo problema.

My fellow Rotarian and I came for the 2025 Rotary International Conference in Calgary. The stay was pleasant. Service was excellent. Room was cleaned daily which was nice returning to a tidy clean room. Coffee and tea were replenished daily which was great. I will highly recommend to friends and family. The hotel was so close to the airport. Shuttle service was provided to the airport which was convenient. I liked the lobby display ready for the 2015 Calgary Stampede from July 1st 2025 for ten days.

Pros: EV Charging: Great to find third-party L2 chargers on-site ($2/hr, added about 40km range per hour). Very convenient for EV owners. Cleanliness: The main room area was generally clean and well-maintained. Cons: Housekeeping Fail: When preparing the sofa bed, I found the provided bedsheet had a massive hole right in the middle. I tried calling guest services multiple times but no one answered. I eventually had to hunt down a housekeeping staff member in the hallway to get a fresh sheet. Breakfast Frustration: My booking clearly included breakfast for myself and my two children. However, the restaurant staff insisted it was only for two people and made me go to the front desk to resolve it myself. It was an awkward and unnecessary hassle during a family trip. Tipping Pressure: After the breakfast confusion and mediocre food quality, being presented with a $0 receipt that explicitly prompts for tips felt like a cash grab. Verdict: While the hardware (charging, cleanliness) is decent, the service and communication between the front desk and the restaurant need major improvement. I shouldn't have to ”prove” my booking status or chase staff for basic linens.
