E&O is our favourite hotel in Penang. Being a local Penangite, we frequently ate at Sarkies and even had our wedding in this hotel 10 years ago. We're back in this hotel for our anniversary, however we were a little disappointed with our stay. The bathtub in our corner suite is extremely dirty and stained. We asked the housekeepers to clean it as we wanted to use it. Worse of all, when we filled the tub with water, to our horror, the water was brown in colour!! Not sure if there is proper maintenance done to ensure the water supply is not tainted. The housekeepers also did not refill the complimentary mini bar items despite stating that our suite includes replenishment of the mini bar items on a daily basis. The surface area and tables were not wiped properly as well when they came to clean the room. We hope the management would seriously look into this matter, especially on the water source and overall cleanliness of the suite / bathroom.

My stay at The Light Hotel was an absolute delight! The room was spacious, modern, and immaculately clean, complete with a comfortable bed. The breakfast served at the restaurant was delectable, and the ambiance was enjoyable. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making my stay truly memorable. The hotel’s location was also convenient for exploring the city. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Overall a wonderful one night stay. Not much to do at surrounding Teluk Bahang area. The facilities in the hotel are well maintained. From outside it looked a bit dilapidated but inside all is okay. One thing that can be improved upon is the room’s sound insulation. At nighttime we can hear sounds of motorcycles as the door faces the main road. Nevertheless if you are tired I think it doesn’t matter. You still can get a good night sleep. The bed is a little bit too soft for my preference but still good. And kudos to the team for a lovely surprise in the room as well. Truly made our day!

Kids-friendly vacation I must say. We really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast has wide variety of choices. My children love to play in the kids room. The hotel pool is so nice and very clean. We got room with the waterpark view. The only downside is the room is not really soundproof, you can hear other kids playing down there even you are at the 5th floor room

Hay una playa privada, que es muy bonita. También hay muchos lugares para comer. Recomiendo especialmente el puesto de comida de la derecha cuando sales. Son chinos y hablan chino. Estrategias muy recomendables. El desayuno del hotel tiene una rica variedad de platos. Lo tomé durante dos días consecutivos y estuvo muy bueno. Hay una parada de autobús justo afuera del hotel. La ruta 101 es muy conveniente. Es agradable tomar el autobús y ver el paisaje a lo largo del camino. Además, el servicio de Ctrip también está disponible. Debido a que necesito una cama extra, me comuniqué con el servicio de atención al cliente. El personal de atención al cliente fue muy atento para confirmar con el hotel y obtuve una cama extra gratis, ¡lo cual es muy bueno! Después de llegar al hotel, el hotel cobró un depósito y pensó erróneamente que era una tarifa por cama adicional. Después de regresar a China, me comuniqué con Ctrip y el personal de servicio al cliente también hizo todo lo posible para comunic**** con el hotel para obtener confirmación.

This is the best hotel i ever booked in trip.com. receive extremely warm hospitality a profesional hotelier team. The resort was perfect for city dweller looking for short escape and peace. Me encantó la ubicación geográfica de The George. Está convenientemente ubicado en las cercanías de Lebuh Campbell, Lebuh Kimberly, Love Lane, Muntri Street y Chulia Street, lo que prácticamente nos da acceso a una buena combinación de lugares hipster y una variedad de comidas callejeras tradicionales de Penang. Nos quita mucha carga de conducir y buscar lugares para estacionar, ya que podríamos explorar el lugar a pie. Me encantó la combinación de diseño moderno con toques tradicionales en la habitación, con una vista de la torre Komtar desde la ventana también. Mención especial al inodoro con bidet que venía con calentador de asiento, fue un punto de inflexión. Ojalá tuviéramos más tiempo para darnos un chapuzón en la piscina, oímos que es una piscina de agua salada en lugar de las habituales piscinas tratadas con cloro. Esperamos volver al George la próxima vez que visitemos Penang.

This trip was a relaxing time for the whole family. The accommodation was clean and suitable for family travel, the food was excellent, and the staff were friendly, leaving a good impression on us. However, compared to Sand Hotel, it was hard to notice any particularly distinctive differences. Still, it was a trip that left us with great memories overall.
