Regular visitor to Penang, about 5 times per year.  First time staying in this hotel and I must say it is the best in terms of location, especially for foodie like me. Yummy is everywhere once I step out of this hotel. Only downside, there is no bedside power point to pluck in to charge my phone. So every time a notification tone comes in, I gotta get out of bed to go check on it. Other than that, all is excellent. Attach a couple of photos on the most popular food just along the street outside the hotel.

But what truly stood out was the service-warm, proactive, and personal. They even WhatsApped us pre-check-in to see if we needed anything extra. And the cherry on top? The hotel is located just opposite Komtar and is very close to a lot of eateries, restaurants and coffee shops. The room is very clean and bathroom toiletries are quite complete, as well as iron n ironing board, hair dryer. All the staff are very friendly n helpful n always greets with a smile. Buffet breakfast spread is very nice too. Totally enjoyed our stay there. Will definitely stay there again during for our next visit.

Instalaciones: Bien, el aire acondicionado es muy potente y se proporcionan dos botellas de agua al día. Las únicas pegas son que el lavabo del baño desagua lentamente y no hay cepillos de dientes, pasta de dientes ni zapatillas. Limpieza: En general, está limpio. Hay un ligero olor a humedad al entrar, pero se alivia una vez que se enciende el aire acondicionado. La ropa de cama tiene algunas manchas, pero parece que no desaparecen después de lavarla, y no me sentí incómodo después de tres noches. Se proporcionan toallas limpias a diario (una por persona), pero el último día me llegó una toalla rota y con aspecto de hilo. Entorno: El vestíbulo de la primera planta es bastante bonito, pero las puertas de las habitaciones no están muy insonorizadas, así que el silencio depende de cada uno. La ventana de mi habitación daba a la mezquita de al lado. Había oraciones matutinas, pero dormí profundamente y solo las oí una vez. Servicio: El servicio fue excelente, sin ninguna queja. El personal del restaurante y del vestíbulo fue amable. Relación calidad-precio: 196 por noche, con desayuno incluido (aunque el desayuno es sencillo y no varía mucho, es abundante). La Casa Azul está cruzando la calle y el servicio gratuito de autobús CAT está disponible en la cercana estación del Hotel Cititel, lo que lo hace muy práctico para viajar. Tiene una muy buena relación calidad-precio.

Surprised by how clean it was despite being an old hotel in the area. I am overall satisfied with the hotel and my room, especially the cleanliness of the toilet and tub area. If I have to be really fussy and pin point a thing I did not like, it would be that the blanket is slightly thinner than I would normally prefer a hotel blanket to me. However, this is just my very fussy side speaking. Overall, I would give this hotel a 4.9 out of 5. I had booked a room with breakfast during my two days there for a workshop. Both days are somewhat the same, food was decent. The workshop provided lunch which led me to again dining in the lunch buffet section, overall it was pleasant. I like it that the hotel provided a variety of Penang food over the two days. My fav was the rojak which I took a photo here haha! Hub enjoyed the pool and hot & cold pool (sadly the sauna was under maintenance). Before I checked out, I also happened to be part of the Penang heritage launch ceremony. So, I got to see some of the really beautiful art work and nyonya clothing items on sale at the pop up stalls at the lobby too. The hotel also was serving nutmeg juice and Penang famous snack 豆沙饼. I must mention too, that I got a sea view room which allowed me to see the extension project by MBPP. There was a very happening and lovely park opposite the hotel just minutes walk away. I couldn’t help to bring myself over and was really happy to experience the joy of the families enjoying the facilities there. Huge slide, lots of climbing equipment and a very decent skatepark! Running track was very nice too! You must check it out if you’re in Penang! It was overall a pleasant stay in all.

Hay una playa privada, que es muy bonita. También hay muchos lugares para comer. Recomiendo especialmente el puesto de comida de la derecha cuando sales. Son chinos y hablan chino. Estrategias muy recomendables. El desayuno del hotel tiene una rica variedad de platos. Lo tomé durante dos días consecutivos y estuvo muy bueno. Hay una parada de autobús justo afuera del hotel. La ruta 101 es muy conveniente. Es agradable tomar el autobús y ver el paisaje a lo largo del camino. Además, el servicio de Ctrip también está disponible. Debido a que necesito una cama extra, me comuniqué con el servicio de atención al cliente. El personal de atención al cliente fue muy atento para confirmar con el hotel y obtuve una cama extra gratis, ¡lo cual es muy bueno! Después de llegar al hotel, el hotel cobró un depósito y pensó erróneamente que era una tarifa por cama adicional. Después de regresar a China, me comuniqué con Ctrip y el personal de servicio al cliente también hizo todo lo posible para comunic**** con el hotel para obtener confirmación.

Hospitality is superb, but the only downside is the kids' pool. It was so slippery at the 3 hoops sections. Slipped and fell hard on it. Hurt my wrist as I used my wrist to break the fall. It happened too fast.. hopefully, the maintenance could look into it and really scrubbed it as it is indeed very dangerous for the kids.

Hace poco estuve en este hotel con mi familia y fue una experiencia excelente. Las instalaciones eran de primera categoría y atendían perfectamente a las familias. Desde amplias habitaciones hasta comodidades ideales para familias, proporcionó todo lo que necesitábamos para una estancia confortable. ¡Muy recomendable para una escapada familiar!

Love the design of the hotel. The room is huge by Penang standard and comes with lots of carpark. We had a really comfortable stay at Sho. The cons is the location which is located slightly away from the Center. The water pressure in the shower is sometimes too low. These are minor problems. Definitely will visit again

I had a great stay at this hotel! The room was quite spacious and clean. The hotel had a pleasant scent throughout, which made it feel very fresh and welcoming. The facilities were great, and the gym is well-equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely a comfortable and pleasant experience — would stay again!
