Hoteles con Desayuno en Staffordshire, Reino Unido

We stayed in the Keele Courtyard for 3 nights 27-30 December 2025, close enough to the village of Woore where our son hosted a large family gathering - 15 in all of which we are the parents of 3 and grandparents of 7. We found most aspects of the hotel to be very good - very helpful and obliging staff, a spacious and well-appointed room with a large very accessible bathroom. The generous bed was perhaps a little soft for our taste, with pillows that were too large/over-filled to be completely comfortable, again not to our taste, however we slept without too much 'distress'!! Our main disappointment was breakfast. We dined at 7.45am on our first morning as we had a 9am church service to attend and there were few others in the restaurant. The 'heated' plates were cold, and without exception, every cooked item (an acceptable selection available) in the chafers was tepid if not cold and greasy. The fried egg yolks were solid and unpalatable. The generic plain yoghurt was of thin consistency and tasteless. The unlabelled marmalade, (if that was what it was?!) had no flavour and might even have been apricot jam ... There were plenty of cereal, pastry, Danish, roll, fruit, cold cut options etc. and the fruit salad and compote were delicious! The bread for toasting was basic and there were no uncut options to enable a choice of thickness. There was a seeded loaf, already sliced, available near the pastries, etc. which made delicious toast but could perhaps have been available for individual guests to cut more thickly? The coffee from the machines was good, with a varied selection of choices. In order to have a cup of tea, it was necessary to 'dunk' a teabag in a mug - yes, very much what many tea- drinkers do in their daily lives, but surely the availability of small stainless steel tea pots near the hot water is not beyond the imagination of an organisation like Marriot? Tea tastes so much better if allowed to brew in a teapot before being poured into a cup or mug! Perhaps these comments will allow Marriot to review some of their Buffet Breakfast practises and improve the quality of the experience. May I conclude by saying that we have had worse and better - but are still looking for perfection ... ! Thank you for this opportunity to air my feelings. ************.

Hotel really clean and modern. Room was spacious and smelt amazing. Clean modern decor. Most staff are friendly, however, we booked breakfast when we arrived at the hotel, and the pot washer not only stood in the kitchen staring out at guests making them feel extremely uncomfortable, but then he also went and put his fingers in the food to stir the scrambled eggs, but he also picked up a sausage and ate it. The hotel refunded us, but it made us feel sick. Also, £9 per night per car in the Hilton car park is pretty steep.

Room was on the small size, but had everything needed. Bathroom was clean and neat.  The only thing that let this trip down, was that the aircon is not working, and hasn’t been working for months. I previously had left this hotel as it was far too hot in the room, and all they offered was a fan. I called reception before booking, and they said how the air con was working, but then when I arrived, they said it “may be working, in some rooms”, but wasn’t working in ours.  But overall, this was a nice and comfortable hotel. Would book again once aircon is working.

Best Bits The Castle is a lovely old fashioned hotel, perfectly positioned for shopping, river walks and IMHO, the best pub in Tamworth, The Old Bank House just across the road. It's also only about 6 minutes walk from the Jolly Sailor long stay car park where 24 hour parking costs only £2. The man on the front desk was very helpful and showed us to our room. On finding out that we'd stayed at the hotel a few times before, he even offered to move us to to a room we'd stayed in previously. We opted for the standard double room which had quite a comfortable bed and tea/coffee making facilities. There was also a large flat screen TV (not tried). Being at the back of the hotel meant that there was no noise from the road. The room overlooked a small inner courtyard which contained the fire escape stairs and at the correct angle you could just make out the crenellations of Tamworth Castle itself! We didn't eat at the hotel this time but the next morning we spoke to other guests who raved over the fantastic cooked breakfasts so we'll probably try them next time we come. Slight Downsides The en-suite bathroom had a bath with shower over which was very effective once the hot water finally came through. This could be speeded up by turning on the hot water bath tap. A slight downside of the bathroom having a fan instead of natural ventilation was that it took ages for the steam to clear so washbag and contents got a bit damp. There weren't any chairs in the room.

Hotel was great. Clean and comfortable as expected. Issue with the digital room key which caused some delays getting checked in. The restaurant was okay, but I had expected better options for evening meal. It wasn’t at the level expected of the hotel.

El hotel es un hotel muy agradable, y el hotel es un hotel muy agradable. La habitación de la habitación era muy buena, pero la habitación era muy buena. Nos volvimos de nuestra función en 7.30pm y se inspeccionó, hubo un cambio en el personal, pero no un cambio en el servicio al cliente. Nos preguntamos si podíamos conseguir comida del restaurante y se nos dijo que no podíamos hacerlo debido a ”todo lo demás que está pasando” que supongamos era un matrimonio, ni podíamos ordenar un servicio de habitaciones. Si ”pudiéramos encontrar una mesa”. No nos informó de dónde estaba el desayuno, de los tiempos o de la hora de la salida. Nos fuimos a buscar comida al final, pero ten cuidado no hay nada muy cerca, así que fue un desafío con taxis pero encontramos en algún lugar para comer lo suficientemente fácil (y tuvimos un buen tiempo). El hotel es muy bonito, así que nos decepcionamos de que el servicio no lo coincidiera.

We really like staying here, if only for a single night to break up the evening drive from the south to the north west, picking our trip up again the following morning. Our most recent visit was the first using our new (to us) EV, so charging on site proved anxiety calming and very effective - albeit pricey! I was pleasantly surprised by the decor of the room and bathroom! The room was clean and well presented. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was great with lovely toiletries. Despite being on a main road there was very little traffic noise. The pub was clean and tidy with a good food menu and lovely beer garden. It's well situated for travel as its close to moto.rway links etc . The only downsides are: The staircase to the rooms is a little rickety. Its an old building, so it adds to the character. We were on the 3rd floor in the most recent heatwave and there is no air conditioning so it was very hot. Again, this is only probably an issue for 1 week of the year!! I would certainly stay again and would recommend it

Decent stop over after we travelled from Thorpe Park to get to Alton towers the following day. Got there at 20:30 and check in was smooth. The lady on the desk was friendly! Bed was comfy enough, bathroom could’ve been a bit cleaner but was decent enough for the night!

It's ok. For a Quick Stopover. Breakfast is ok nothing out of the ordinary but satisfactory.Room is ok. It's fairly reasonably priced for what it is. I would stay again. Free parking.
