Facilities in the room were basic but clean. There was a balcony overlooking a small lake which was really lovely with geese and ducks around. The area was well kept with picnic tables and there were lots of dog walkers. Breakfast was available at the services next door but we did not use them. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Muy buena ubicación. Excelente precio como un par. Cuando tomamos nuestra cama para nuestro perro, pensábamos que 15 libras extra cada noche era un poco extremo sólo tenerlo con nosotros.

Just home after the loveliest experience! Just a hop, skip and a jump from Dalscone Farm, (under 30 min safe walk on pavement all the way) which was my destination for several days... and best breakfast ever to start my days! And Hamilton House is a lovely leisurely walk to the River Nith, where I got fish and chips to bring back to my room. Thank you Rena and Derek for making me feel so very welcome... and for putting me in touch with Mark at DumfriesTours who took me on an amazing 5 hr whistlestop tour around the area on my last day, delivering me to the train station to head to Glasgow. Couldn't have been a more wonderful experience to mark my milestone year! love, Cathy from Canada, who'll be back to visit soon! xx PS... oh, and it's so lovely and QUIET... even though I was in a room facing Moffat Rd, I had the best sleep EVER is my wonderful king sized bed with AMPLE squishy pillows...

The hotel provided our venue for our charity AGM and dinner. It was outstandingly good. Every request was met and the dinner service in particular was excellent. Over 100 people at the AGM and dinner and it went without a hitch. Food very good too. Many of us stayed there and I had a very large room with a very comfortable bed. Lovely staff too. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Not great. Could do with a deep clean. Valance sheet on bed looked scruffy, bed far too soft. I know this is personal preference but when we sat on the bed the person on the other side was bounced up and almost off it. Lumpy pillows with marks on and a stain on the white duvet cover. Lots of dust around edge of room where vacuum doesn't reach and lino was a different colour around the edges compared to the centre where it's obviously cleaned more. Would need a good scrub. Owner friendly and breakfast was fine but very disappointed with the condition of the room. Unfortunately we won't be back, really needs more attention to detail. Shame.

La puerta delantera está siempre en el snib. Correo postal sobre el porche no recogido. El desayuno se sirve ahora en la gran casa y eso es. El bufete es promedio y el porridge no ganaría un Nombramiento de Oscar más. Es una vergüenza porque los jóvenes de Europa Oriental encargados de lassies están haciendo su mejor. Sé que covid ha golpeado el comercio del hotel duro. La escasez de personal es una característica común ahora y es un milagro que lugares como este pueden permanecer abiertos en todo. en el El caso de Caledonian el funeral los mantiene en marcha, me reúno. Buena suerte para ellos. Pero creo que el uso del nombre Glenlossie para el edificio fantasma a la puerta adyacente es un poco absurdo y bastante triste en las circunstancias.

Yet another fabulous stay here however on this occasion 9 adults and 7 children stayed two nights. This Inn is very convenient for the motorway so it made the ideal place for our family, both sides of the border, to meet here. The rooms were very comfortable the wee extras in the bathroom, including body lotion, are always lovely to use. The available fridge in the room allows fresh milk to be kept and used for tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The jar of coffee tastes so much better than those familiar (bitter in my opinion) sachets of coffee and the tea cakes make a tasty change from the 'usual' biscuits available in some hotels. Breakfast was delicious... choices of cereal, fruit juice and fruit and yogurt as well as a cooked breakfast. I don't know how Alison manages to get so many different meals out together particularly when one wants fried eggs, another scrambled and yet others want bacon well cooked. Alison was not fazed by any of this. There are highchairs too if needed. The sofas around the fire made a great area for us all to sit and natter and play boardgames/cards. There are plenty of games available to keep anyone occupied. We found Alison her usual chatty and helpful host putting everyone at ease and making us all feel welcome. We will not hesitate to stay here again.

Primera cosa primero .....it's not the Ritz but for what I paid via Agoda , probably the best value for money I've spent for a overnight stay.I traveled to Bolton to buy a car for my wife and needed a overnight stay before going home.Reviews I read to be la justicia fue principalmente exacta ....in necesidad de un poco de TLC pero mi habitación era limpia ....I tuvo un sueño grande y cómodo .....in la mañana, el desayuno fue excepcional ...I sólo quería algún lugar de noche para un descanso etc ..... minuciosamente disfrutó .... muy amigable servicio y personal.

La decoración de la habitación del hotel es como KTV, la ubicación del hotel es muy lejana, no entra en la ciudad, es decir, el camino a este hotel conduce a un explosivo, y realmente no es conveniente ir al hotel. El personal de servicio del hotel es entusiasta. El desayuno del hotel es generalmente, no se sugiere ninguna auto, y es caro y incómodo. Freya fue un increíble host y muy acomodativo y útil. El hotel está situado en una zona de la ciudad, en la que se encuentran los lugares de interés de la ciudad. 10-15 minutos a pie del centro de la ciudad, a 25 minutos a pie del parque Crichton y a 10 minutos a pie del enfermero Real de Dumfries. El hotel está muy bien situado en la habitación de los residentes: cafetera con buenas cápsulas Costa, galletas y equipado con hierro y mesa. ¡Tenía desayuno como parte de nuestra estancia y fue de buena calidad el desayuno completo. Eso es lo que necesitamos para montarnos antes de Parkrun! Freya fue muy bueno en sugerir dónde visitar la zona local y seremos seguros de visitar de nuevo pronto, tuvimos una estancia relajada. Recomendamos para cualquiera, quedarse para un viaje de trabajo, visitar amigos o familia o tener una pausa. Gracias a un millón!

In the heart of Robert Burns history is this little piece of history. I would advise you to take the walk around the grounds following the crystal clear lake around to the hermitage where the poet penned some of his famous lines. Previous reviews I read worried about my room being tired in decor but found it well furnished & well kept. Yes the building is old it's a historic place so some floors are uneven etc . There is fishing on the river if that's something you would like to do. Amazing nature around the grounds unspoilt area. The staff were really friendly and accommodating and the food was lovely. Would definitely return, we were booked in Hawthorn with a lake view. The only thing if your a light sleeper is you are above the games room if people are playing pool at night. Also if you need a socket take an extension by bed lead (1 cpap user) .

Easy to find and get on and off the motorway on way up to Scotland. Good rooms , we had a superking which was great with everything you could need plus lovely hospitality tray with tea , coffee and biscuits. Even a jar of chocolates! Bathroom with good shower and toiletries , even toothbrushes and toothpaste in case you forget yours. Easy to walk up for a look at the blacksmiths shop and the outlet village if you want. Good price too especially if you book direct. Dawn was a perfect host, thank you for a great stay.

We arrived on Friday to get married on Saturday, with 25 of us in total. The whole process has been incredibly easy and stress free. Staff have been amazing throughout the whole process from us booking last year to us leaving this morning. Breakfast was brill, as was the food in the restaurant/bar. We opted for salmon and beef for the wedding breakfast and everyone said how beautiful everything was. The bridal suite was lovely and spacious and spotlessly clean. It also had everything we needed including an iron and ironing board. The grounds are beautiful and we were lucky with the weather, literally cannot wait to get my wedding pictures back. Everyone has throughly enjoyed the weekend and stated what good value the rooms were. So a big thank you to everyone at the Mill, you really have given us the most magical weekend! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a stress free day.

A beautiful hotel and such lovely rooms. Bed was amazing with fluffy pillows, great food, I had the duck and it was perfect, brilliant staff, so helpful and friendly, we had a ground floor room , so no steps to navigate, it also had a wet room which great. The room was very big so didn't feel cramped at all. The hotel it's self is beautiful and the grounds are lovely.

When you first arrive it's a bit thought provoking to say the least, but go with the flow. The building from the outside was obviously a grand house in it's day but as with all these huge properties they take a lot of looking after. Once inside the owners were really nice and welcoming. The hotel was querky but in a good way and the rooms were clean, large and had a bath with real running hot/ not like warm hot water. Considering it's actually wedged between a motorway and a main line rail service we had a really good night's sleep. Breakfast was a continental style which is perfect for us as there are only so many fried plates you can eat. My only negative was the wifi was not powerful enough to provide service to the room, so it was realitivly peaceful from the endless YouTube rubbish we now seem to watch as UK TV is well pants to be frank. Definitely give this place a try

I was greeted as a returning customer but hadn’t been there for 17years  The staff were very friendly and helpful and polite  The service I received was excellent and the food was excellent that I received  The first room I stayed in was a little bit tired but as it’s a single bed room it was more than acceptable  The second night was a different room as I extended my stay and was a superior single and was more in price but I found it to be excellent  A great hotel with great staff and would recommend a stay if you’re passing through Lockerbie or need a hotel base in the area
