«Absolutely lovely place to stay... I have 2 boys aged 11,12 and we all slept extremely well and was treated amazing by the staff. Very pleasant and extremely polite. Room was on point with cleanliness I can't fault the room at all except there was really poor signal on the television which resulted in us not being able to watch on it but it gave us more time to explore the city which is only a few mins walk and yet of an evening we was not disturbed one bit by noise or nightlife at all ... Will be rebooking without a doubt as we visit kids dad once a month . The bath was also amazing . Well done guys you definitely have 3 repeat customers in us»

«My room was modern and clean and had everything I needed.
Booking price was reasonable but the cost of breakfast and bar drinks I thought excessive e.g. £6.50 for Guinness.
Attention should be directed externally where litter, weeds and build up of leaves etc detract from first impressions.
Plenty of parking but one has to pay extra for that.»

«The hotel is quite expensive for what you get in terms of the room itself. However, the spa and sauna facilities are beautiful, well worth using, although they require an additional fee.
Breakfast is à la carte rather than a full buffet, and the waiting time for the food can be quite long, to the point where it becomes a little boring. Personally, I prefer a buffet breakfast.
On the plus side, the hotel is in a great central location, making it very convenient for sightseeing. There’s also a public drinking water fountain right outside the hotel where you can refill your water bottle.»

«From the outside, the hotel makes a charming first impression with its elegant façade, ornate balconies, and a warmly lit lobby that exudes a sense of old-world charm. The check-in process is smooth, and the staff are courteous and eager to help.
The room was clean and spacious, the décor is a bit dated but it adds a character to the place and I like it. The only small issue was, there’s no window only a door to the balcony which is locked and we cannot access it making the room stuffy.
Also, it was difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep due to a noise of exhaust fan in the bathroom throughout the night.
The bed was comfortable and having an iron was a bonus.
Will I stay again? Definitely.»

«I often considered booking this hotel when coming home to visit but after these last 3 days I will definitely use it more, previously I had always booked premier inn hotel never again, this hotel has AC which during the last few days has been a godsend and the added bonus of a walk in shower that was actually quite powerful, compare that to the premier inn asking for £300 for 3 nights with no AC and a shower over a bath that is totally useless, this cost £179 for 3 nights absolute bargain.»

Stayed here for one night during my Peak District trip. The hotel is very well located, right in the centre of Buxton and close to the Pavilion Gardens, bus stops, and walking routes. The room was clean, comfortable, and warm — perfect after a long day of hiking. Staff were polite and helpful, and the overall experience was smooth and hassle-free. A solid choice if you’re exploring Buxton and the Peak District using public transport.

We stayed for 1 night for a special occasion. On arrival we were told that the spa was closed for an event which was very disappointing as I booked this hotel because of the spa & had planned to use the pool & sauna. This should gave been communicated at the time of booking. The building and grounds were impressive but on arrival our featured superior room was freezing cold. The reception turned on the heating at our request but this should have been done hours before our arrival given that it was 8 degrees outside. We sat for an hour in the room with our coats on before asking for a portable heater due to the radiators being only lukewarm. The room never really got warm & when we came back from dinner at 9.15 the heating had been turned off again & we had to ask for it to be turned on again. The food in the restaurant was very good & the servers were lovely but unorganised. We planned to have a drink in the hotel bar but it was so cold that it was empty and not comfortable to stay. I heard kore than one staff member complain about the cold in the hotel. What could have been a very pleasant stay was spoiled by the cold. Unfortunately, we will not return.

Usuario invitadoA wonderful, quiet location with plenty of free parking and an extremely warm welcome,The hotel could do with a little tender care, as parts of it were disintegrating and in poor repair. The window frames, which are unfortunately rotting away, along with slipped, broken roof tiles due to lack of maintenance. We were a little disappointed that we could not order our tasty evening Indian meal from the on-site restaurant to eat in our room after a long day out and about, and instead had to eat in the poorly lit restaurant, so much so that I could not read the menu with the tiny writing and poor design colors. I would not stay again, as what was described as a standard double room on the second floor was in a converted half-eve loft with no view out of the roof windows. The ensuite was adequate, with a good shower; towels, soap and body wash were included, though only one pair of slippers. Breakfast is not included in the price of the room, which, in my opinion, was too expensive for what it is.

Stayed for two nights in this beautiful country hotel. A very warm welcome on arrival and then shown to a beautiful large room, The Kedleston. It had everything you could wish for and a very comfortable bed. I was staying to visit relatives nearby but it would make an excellent base for exploring the area. Kedleston Hall, National Trust is on the doorstep and a must to visit. Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious, I didn’t eat in the evenings but the menu looked really good and if breakfast was anything to go on it will be fabulous. I will definitely return to stay and also take my family to the restaurant. Thank you to all your excellent staff for a very enjoyable stay.
