My trip was totally ruined by the end/check out. Upon checking out they asked me to settle a £36 bill. I queried this as the previous night I ate in the Luna Dome but had paid the bill after my meal. I was advised by the receptionist that the drinks bill related to my first night's stay, where 3 drinks were ordered in the Titan Bar, then shoved a signed receipt in my face. The signature was not mine but it did have the same surname as my mum, who was also present for my weekend stay. It definitely was NOT my mum's signature but the receptionist clearly did not believe me, so as embarrassing as the whole situation was, with a queue gathering behind me, I had to bring my mum into reception to explain. My mum explained that she had not been in the Titan Bar, never mind order £36 worth of drinks! We were experiencing a chilled out weekend away with my 2 year old daughter, not on a boozy weekend. When queried why the bill was stapled to our room number, we were advised that due to the hotel being cashless, patrons simply sign a receipt and staff match it too guests who stay surnames! What!? So you merely play snap with bills and patrons surnames? If your a Smith/Jones, good luck, dread to think how many bills you'll be hit with. What was a lovely weekend away, was ruined in the last 5 minutes.

Stayed at Craigendarroch for the first time and also first timeshare exchange visit. We were very pleased with our choice. The resort location was great.Lovely scenery and nearby walks into Ballater town and local walks. We had a suite which which was very comfortable and good size with all the facilities we needed. The small kitchenette was sufficient for doing our own breakfasts. We ate in the Lounge bar and The Brasserie over 4 days in our 1 week stay. The food was very good and the staff friendly and helpful. The leisure facilities we really enjoyed; nice pool and steam room and sauna were very good; table tennis and snooker for a bit of fun too. Whilst visiting we rebooked for 2025 as we enjoyed our week so much. It was helped by very pleasant weather.

Great wee overnight stay so my daughter and I could go to Aberdeen Uni's open day. Handy location just off the motorway, and a short drive into Aberdeen centre. We ate dinner at the Indian Brasserie across the road, which was very nice, and the hotel breakfast was standard fare and a reasonable choice. Would recommend the hotel for a stay out with the hustle and bustle of the city- parking right outside the door, and a park and ride facility a short drive from the hotel. Staff were helpful and pleasant, too. Checking in was straightforward, and so was check out. Would return if I needed to visit Aberdeen in the future.

2nd time i have visited only to be let down. I only take a mixed grill when I’m there and today of all days which is my birthday was again let down. Came in and the waitress made a comment regarding my child which I thought was rude and also asked us our drinks to which we ordered while looking at the menu. After we decided she came back and asked what we would like to order and when I asked for the large mixed grill she informed us that there was no grill things or any burgers. She then stated that she should have informed us this before we ordered our drinks and forgot as she has had a busy day. Didn’t look that busy to be honest since we were 5 of probably only 3 others in the building. Total let down and don’t think we will be back unless they have food in and also attitude changes towards kids! This was for a birthday dinner and we left disgusted without ordering anything.

The situation is magnificent, the view from our room #15 was lovely and the interior furnishings were superb - super bathroom, lovely mattress, comfortable settee. We were ever so slightly disappointed with the food - it was well presented but lacked sparkle though I have subsequently been told that my dinner choice of sea trout in Autumn was a mistake. I found it rather bland. The breakfast waffle was nicely presented but just wasn't good enough . We think of ourselves as aficionados on this one. I was also surpised that the hotel doesn't accept Amex. This seems an anachronism for a larger, upmarket establishment. That said the staff were pleasant and capable, the access and parking easy and the location is great for the superb Crathes Castle and other attractions. There is also a good high street in Banchory. The drive from Montrose across the hills to Banchory is breathtaking. And just to repeat the proximity and views of the River Dee are really splendid.

Enjoyed my 2 night stay and everything was excellent and good service from my host. Will be booking again in this hotel.

[Incluso 2 mini botellas de vino como gran estancia bon hombre.] Nadarra vino y bar de comida (menos de 5 minutos a pie fue una sorpresa inesperada. Sólo una gran actualización inspiradora a nuestra visión de lo que esta costa era de nuestras memorias. 2024 ”Top Notch” permanecer después de la nostalgia y la historia familiar. No debe perderse! Returned to Thainstone House for a long weekend with key aim to relax, enjoy surroundings, have time in the Spa plus taste well prepared foods and sample various whisky's - all aspects fully achieved !!! From Emma at Reception, general manageress Natalie to Rachel in the Spa area, the staff are really friendly and clearly make an effort to ensure anyone staying feels relaxed. Many are learning their trade within the hospitality sector so as hotel was particularly busy, could benefit from having several additional members of staff to assist at breakfast, evening meal times or in the bar area. Room was spacious and bed very comfy - nice touch of offering Tunnocks tea cakes & wafers to have with a cuppa !! Enjoyed a couple of massages which were excellent, pool and Spa area ideal with no rush or time limit. With sun shinning, trees in full autumn colours, wildlife all around - what is there not to enjoy. Thank you and will definitely be back soon.
