«A New Hotel with Potential, but Service Falls Short of Five-Star Standards Pros The hotel is clearly new, and the room is spacious, modern, and equipped with brand-new furniture and fixtures. The bed is comfortable, the air conditioning works very well, and the plumbing is in good condition. Breakfast is included in the room rate. The hotel appears to cater primarily to Chinese tourists, with large tour groups arriving by coach. Accordingly, breakfast is largely Chinese-style, which may not suit everyone's tastes. The breakfast area can also be quite noisy, as guests often speak loudly, sometimes seemingly trying to talk over one another. This makes breakfast less relaxing than one might expect. On the positive side, the staff are very accommodating and are happy to prepare alternatives upon request. For example, they kindly made an omelette for me, which I appreciated. Another highlight is the rooftop bar on the seventh floor, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. Cons Unfortunately, several issues detract from the overall experience. There was no soap in the bathroom, despite shampoo and shower gel being provided in the shower. The shower drain was extremely slow, forcing me to turn off the water periodically to prevent the bathroom from flooding. In addition, an unpleasant musty smell frequently came from the bathroom. The Wi-Fi connection was unreliable and kept disconnecting, which was frustrating. Despite having a kettle, tea bags, and instant coffee in the room, there were no cutlery items at all, not even a teaspoon to stir the coffee. Such a small detail, yet an important one when it comes to basic room amenities. The curtains also close automatically every time you return to the room, meaning you have to open them again manually using a button during the daytime. This is a rather odd and inconvenient feature. Another issue is housekeeping. Daily cleaning is not provided automatically and must be requested by displaying the appropriate sign. This is an unexpected policy for a hotel claiming five-star status. The location is another drawback. The hotel is situated away from the main part of town, where most restaurants, cafés, and other activities are concentrated. It takes approximately 15 minutes to walk to the centre, including around 200 metres along a very dusty road. This makes walking back and forth less pleasant, especially if you plan to visit the town centre several times a day. Overall impression The hotel has a solid foundation: it is new, spacious, and comfortable in several respects. The comfortable bed, effective air conditioning, and rooftop bar are definite advantages. However, the service and attention to detail do not match the five-star category it claims to offer. For me, five-star hospitality means consistent, uncompromising standards. Guests should not have to ask for basic bathroom essentials, improvise when making coffee, deal with a poorly draining shower and unpleasant bathroom odours, endure an unreliable Wi-Fi connection, or explicitly request routine housekeeping. The noisy breakfast environment and the dusty road leading to the town centre also make the overall experience less comfortable. Individually, some of these issues may seem minor, but together they reveal significant shortcomings in service, maintenance, and quality control. A five-star hotel should not require guests to make compromises on such basic aspects of their stay. The hotel has potential, but considerable improvements are needed in day-to-day operations, housekeeping, maintenance, and attention to detail before it can truly deliver a five-star experience.»

Las habitaciones están decoradas con gusto con diferentes elementos de la cultura local laosiana y cuentan con una agradable terraza y un balcón para disfrutar de las vistas. El spa está ubicado justo a orillas del río y ofrece varios paquetes. Es un lugar muy agradable para relajarse por la tarde. El personal es amable y acogedor. El desayuno es excelente y tiene bonitas vistas. La cena está buena, pero le faltaba algo. El hotel está un poco anticuado, pero la impresión general es muy agradable. «Good hotel for its price. We had daily breakfast and daily cleaning. Location is very good. There is a swimming pool, we have never used it but I saw people who swam. Breakfast is not what we wanted to have since we would be happier to see rice instead of white bread made from plain wheat :) but we ordered it + meet to feed hungry stray animals We changed 2 rooms in the beginning because first one had crazy smell of cigarettes (don’t go to 103!), second one on the same floor had broken mirror. So with heavy luggage we chose to go to the second floor. 203 room is ok /) Everything is not new and outdated but for such price very good quality. Btw you need to leave your shoes outside before lobby in a special place and walk inside all area of hotel without shoes.»

«⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Exceptional Stay at Sunrise Mountain View I had the absolute best stay at Sunrise Mountain View in Vang Vieng. From the moment we arrived, the receptionists made us feel so welcome. They were incredibly kind, always helpful, and genuinely tried to create conversation with us. It didn’t feel transactional at all ,they were just wholesome and warm people. The entire team was amazing, including security and the cleaners. The hotel was very clean, well-maintained, and felt safe throughout our stay. Breakfast was good and satisfying, with enough variety to start the day properly before activities. What really stood out was how helpful they were with everything. They helped us book our tours around Vang Vieng, arranged our train tickets to Luang Prabang, and even called a tuk-tuk for us whenever we needed one. It made our trip completely stress-free. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vang Vieng. Thank you for making our trip so special!»
