My First Hostel Experience — And It Was a Blast! Ostello Bello Palermo was my first-ever hostel stay, and honestly — it was an amazing surprise! At first, I was placed in a room with all guys, but when I asked to switch, the staff quickly and kindly arranged a change for me. Each room has 11 beds and 2 showers, and everything was super clean, which I really appreciated. The common area is lovely — warm, welcoming, and full of life. That night, there was a DJ party that lasted until 1 a.m., and sleeping was definitely not an option… but I was in the spirit of experimentation, so I just went with it and ended up dancing and having a great time. I met some amazing local musicians who were born in Palermo, and we had such a fun night hanging out and talking. It felt like a truly authentic and spontaneous experience. Breakfast was tasty, with a good selection. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly — especially one guy at the reception (I wish I remembered his name!) who was just the sweetest. Thank you for making my first hostel stay so special. I’ll never forget it 💛

La habitación de paisaje marino sin rodeos, con flores calientes frente al mar, también puede estar lejos de la confusa vulcana de Etna. El hotel está en la mitad de la montaña, con autos de cuatro kilómetros de la estación de tren a la montaña 25 euros un poco caro. Hôtel situé juste à côté du funiculaire pour Taormina. Les chambres sont simples et légèrement datées mais parfaitement suffisantes pour une nuit. L’hôtel bénéfice d’une très belle vue sur la mer. Se garer gratuitement en voiture n’est pas évident en pleine saison (quartier avec beaucoup de passage).

Our stay here was nothing short of magical, and it all begins with the outstanding service that made us feel like family. Dominico, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met, embodying the true spirit of Sicilian hospitality. The accommodations were a dream. Our bed was incredibly comfortable, providing the perfect respite after a day of exploring. From our room, we were treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, where olive trees and winery vines stretched as far as the eye could see. The tranquility of this environment is unmatched; it’s the kind of peaceful retreat that rejuvenates the soul. One of the highlights of our stay was the delightful donkey family that resides on the property. Each time we called out their names—Daddy Donkey Carmelo, Mom Antonella, and their son Vitina—they would come trotting over when they hear calling their names, bringing smiles and laughter to our days. Their playful presence truly added a unique charm to our experience. FYI, they love apples! We are so grateful to have chosen Feudo Del Biviere for our getaway. It’s a place that feels like home, wrapped in the beauty of nature and filled with warmth. We left with full hearts and wonderful memories, already dreaming of our next visit. Io e la mia compagna ci siamo voluti regalare un viaggio in Sicilia, tappe Palermo, Agrigento e Catania. Ad Agrigento era impossibile non andar a vedere la Valle dei Templi, allora abbiamo scelto questo hotel, siamo rimasti entusiasti su tutti i punti, la struttura è eccellente ma forse le persone che ci lavorano lo sono di più, gentilissime ed estremamente cordiali. Hanno saputo rispondere con competenza a qualsiasi domanda e poi la cena, che dire, ottima, non mi immaginavo che il ristorante di un hotel fosse così! La cura nelle pietanze servite è sicuramente da 10, hanno un cuoco o cuoca oltre ogni aspettativa, ripeto non solo nel cucinare, ma nel servire, nel consigliare, nel raccontare e spiegare le pietanze, il tutto non si limitava a degli ottimi cibi ma era condito anche da quel sapere che i gentilissimi camerieri hanno saputo raccontare a dei semplici commensali. Disappointing Experience 🫣 I had a rather unpleasant stay at *Appartamenti Rosa Dei Venti* in Trapani. First of all, the parking situation is very misleading. It's advertised as “free parking near the property,” but in reality, you’ll be given a business card upon arrival with the name of a parking lot located 3 km away in an industrial area beyond the port. They do offer a free shuttle to and from the parking lot, but be prepared to wait. Even if you prearrange your pick-up time, you'll likely have to call and ask “Where are you?” when the time comes. As for the apartment itself — unfortunately, it was far from cozy. The building hardly gets any sunlight, so the space feels dark and chilly. I was freezing at night under a very thin blanket. The bathroom window opens into the shared stairwell, so you can hear people coming in and out, and even sounds from neighboring bathrooms — not exactly pleasant. The location is central, but that also means a lot of street noise. There’s a café just below the windows. I was lucky it was a weekday and they closed around 11 PM — but not without the clatter of dumpsters and shutters being slammed. Conversations from people downstairs are easily heard inside the room. To be fair, the apartment was clean, which is probably the only positive I can mention. In summary, if you're staying in Trapani for just a day or two, I’d recommend booking a hotel instead — something more welcoming and better managed. And unless you're traveling without a car and plan to spend all your time in the city center, this place may not be the best option. For me, it was an overall disappointing experience.

La Chicca Palace Hotel was a wonderful experience! We loved it from the very first minute that we walked in! 🥰 It has a very playful and colorful ambience and lots of light! We were welcomed super friendly by Giovanna, had a very nice chat, and were helped with the parking that turned out to be quite convenient and almost right in front of the Hotel entrance with the use of an App that Giovanna recommended us to download. Giovanna also gave us a great recommendation for dining which we followed the next day and were very happy with. Our room was beautiful and super clean as was the bathroom (sorry no pics) and the view from the balcony was as you can see on picture #2 & 3. The tree on the left was fantastic! 🌳 And on the left side behind the tree there was a Café that had the best coffee granita we had during our stay on Sicily! 😋 We spent two nights at La Chicca. The breakfast place was super stylish - you can see on the picture, and the breakfast itself was simple, yet very typical for a Sicilian breakfast and completely satisfying. Definitely made us happy as well! I like it when there are fruits and eggs and yoghurt as well ... After the first night, we took the ferry to Lipari, one of the Eolian Islands. It was an amazing day! In the evening, after a delicious dinner at Ristorante Panzakina - Giovanna's recommendation - we returned to the hotel, had a fun and long evening chat with lovely Giovanna, and were invited to have a Grappa together ... A perfect day! Actually, two perfect days at La Chicca in Milazzo on Sicily! ❤️ We are quite positive that we will return ...

Sicuramente ci ritornerò. Praticamente sul mare. La spiaggia bellissima a pochi metri dal bungalow. Ottima pulizia. Staff cordiale e simpatico. Ampi spazi di verde. Ristorante e tabaccheria. Nelle vicinanze ci sono ristoranti, bar un Lidl raggiungibile in pochi minuti di auto. Fermata autobus per Catania centro proprio all'ingresso della strutura. Aeroporto a 5 minuti di distanza.

El Grand Hotel San Pietro, con vistas al Mar Iónico, es un hermoso hotel con jardines paisajosos y excelentes instalaciones, el personal es muy cortés y útil, y las habitaciones están bien equipadas y muy cómodas.  Situado a 10-15 minutos a pie de la zona de compras y de vistas de Taormina, este hotel 5 Estrellas es una excelente elección.  El personal, como se ha mencionado, es muy amable y útil - y es muy fácil ser amigos con ellos. En efecto, Christian y Loretta (que trabajan en el bar durante la noche) son dos miembros del personal que agradezco muy - no sólo por su servicio, sino por el tiempo excepcional que hemos pasado con ellos.  Este hotel es muy recomendado y estoy seguro de que esperaré volver en un futuro no demasiado lejano.

La estructura es muy limpia, bien organizada y curada, con la zona de piscina y bañera Jacuzzi que es realmente una joya con una vista maravillosa de Palermo. Amplia, luminosa y limpia. Servicio profesional y siempre cuidado con los detalles. El restaurante es de excelente calidad y variedad de elección. Podrían, en mi opinión, explotar la zona de piscina incluso la noche, teniendo en cuenta el espacio y la presencia del bar chiosco, con música de fondo, y luces sufocadas para un aperitivo o cocktail borda piscina con vistas panorámicas. Crear una situación tranquila, relajada, donde interactuar con los demás huéspedes, simple pero eficaz. La posición, un poco fuera de mano, te obliga a tomar el coche o una naveta y ir a Palermo. Un consejo, el restaurante es un poco caro, sobre todo en relación a la cantidad de las porciones, aunque la calidad es alta. La pizza es en la media general. Puede que le pida a más invitados quedarse a cenar, aunque luego tengas que crear algo, como se ha dicho antes, para que la hermosa estructura viva incluso en las horas de la noche. Sólo una nota dolorosa, por lo tanto, después de la salida de las 11:00, tienes que irte. La mayoría de las instalaciones, en cambio, le permite quedarse otra media jornada en la piscina, donde entre otras cosas es fácil tomar un poco de consumo en el bar. Quería quedarme hasta las 14 para disfrutar de otra hora de Jacuzzi, pero a pesar de que he pedido varias veces, esto me fue negado y no insistiendo, me fui. Estoy seguro de volver, porque me encontré realmente bien. Espero que la dirección del hotel tome mis consideraciones, no como críticas, sino como consejos.
