Lovely atmosphere on entering , lovely sea view room , rooms are large but could do with a bit of updating , cols air coming through bedroom window, , had to use a towel to try and stop the breeze as it was a very cold night, service was terrible in the bar area and had to wait more than 10 minutes before going to speak to receptionist who came to serve , it was very quiet and no staff around, breakfast is good quality and plenty of choice with lovely sea view from restaurant.
Very poor for parking, the steps of the area going for the car park are unsafe for women and children, as there are homeless men sleeping and youngsters smoking ***** in the area, car parking fees are very expensive at £10.90 for one day so I was there for six days, where Premier inn is only £6 90 for one day, on my arrival at the reception even though I was born in Torquay and lived there for 17 years but now living in Thailand I was asked for my passport and I can assure you I was not happy with,
The room we were given was at the bottom of a flight of stairs resulting in a lot of noise disturbance throughout the day and night. The hotel itself feels a little dated and the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The fire alarm at 7am was also an unwelcome wake up call.
The breakfast was good, with a decent selection and the general location is good for accessing local walks and the costal path. Parking is a bit of a nightmare and you can end up with a lengthy walk to the hotel when it is busy.
The stay was pleasant, the room was basic but clean missed not having a bath and just a shower missed simple things like a hair dryer in the room although when requested at the reception I was given one and lack of choice of coffee and tea in the room.
It was very nice that there was no noise at night and meant a decent night's sleep.
Breakfast was acceptable, but you have to get there early when it comes out hot from the kitchen, or it is all cold from spending to long under the hot plates. The only big downside is it's a good 30mns walk from the town centre although buses seem to run outside the hotel but there is a good-sized car park if you drive.
The room was small but fine for just my 2 nights stay and acceptable. I'm not sure the room size, lack of luxuries and breakfeast beng hit and miss would make it comfortable for a longer stay.
Stayed here many times before. Very different experience at check-in compared to last time. We waited too long, were ignored and eventually checked in by someone who was unhelpful. Room clean and tidy. TV not in great location, shower changed in temperature while been used. Breakfast was ok, coffee machine issues and cold eggs.
Location is good if you want to go to the resort. We were using the hotel to attend a family funeral
Car parking can be difficult and we parked at a sister hotel 10 minutes walk away.
Room was too small and needs updating. Old tea bag left in kettle. Some black mould in bathroom.
The breakfast was good, although portion size was small.
Overall - good value but better hotels locally at small additional cost
Great location, just a few minutes from the train station. Despite looking like an old building, the rooms were comfortable with good views from the window. It's basically in the town centre so you can walk to the nearby attractions. One negative was that they wanted to charge us for a late check-out.

UUsuario invitado29/04/2025. We have been to the cliffden hotel three times and had a club room on the first floor they were nice large rooms but this time we were on the second floor our room was very small and claustrophobic nothing like the photos in the booking . We asked for a different room and the man at reception said see me tomorrow morning and if there's a larger room you can have it. Later on in the day my partner went to reception to book a table for an evening meal for us. While she was booking the table the lady at the reception said there were no other rooms you can have. The barman was very polite nice to chat to. We only had one meal in the evening cod and chips could not find much cod it was all batter. Other meal gammon and chips gammon would be good to repair your soles on your shoes. Go to the local chip shop absolutely beautiful. We used the indoor swimming pool which was nice and clean. The gardens are lovely, and the beer is very expensive. Go to the jolly sailor pub with drinks at good prices. Reception is not very helpful. I can't understand why the hotel puts people with dogs on the second floor because when the dog wants to go to the toilet by the time you get down to the entrance the dog has already peed on the carpets. Luckily our dog can hold her pee and she is small enough to carry.I have followed other people with their dogs and seen it. Overall we were very disappointed with our stay this time.
UUsuario invitadoI had an outstanding experience at Leonardo Hotel Plymouth. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly professional, making check-in smooth and stress-free. The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with a comfortable bed and modern amenities that made my stay relaxing.
The location is perfect—right in the heart of Plymouth, close to the waterfront and local attractions, which made exploring the city effortless. Breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day.
What truly stood out was the attention to detail and the genuine hospitality of the team. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. I highly recommend Leonardo Hotel Plymouth to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and exceptional service. I’ll definitely be returning!
AAndyPPThe hotel and area was fantastic, however, service at the front desk and the restaurant was lacking.
We took a long weekend break and were excited to try the beach club, however our experience was dampened by the service.
Being made to stand around for 5 minutes, whilst being told we hadn't paid (when we had) was unnecessary and frankly embarrassing.
The restaurant was the most disappointing part of the stay.
I'm the evening service was slow, followed by having our order wrong twice and also dropped.
Breakfast at the restaurant was lacking compared to cheaper hotels that offer continental. Small selection , nothing outstanding. When we ordered a cooked breakfast, it took 30-40 minutes to receive some eggs and pancakes although the restaurant was fairly quiet.
However, the room, facilities, and the spa were fantastic. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. The beach club outside was gorgeous. The spa was perfect and treatments were, to quote my partner, 'one of the best massages of my life'.
We're unsure if we would come back. Although the facilities were great, the service was mostly subpar and not what we'd expect from a harbour hotel.

HHebaTodo en todo fue tan sorprendente el fin de semana
La única cosa que necesitaba un refrigerador en la habitación, de lo contrario todo estaba completamente bien.
UUsuario invitadoSuper clean! Convenient location. Although with no laundry service or microwaves for guests, the hotel provides 2 bottles of water and coffee every day. Still a good choice for students to stay for a summer gap if your student accommodation cannot help with that.
FF HonourBooked a last minute break and have to say what a little gem this hotel is.
We were welcomed by the owners Steve & Wendy who the most friendly and down to earth people you would ever wish to meet.
Their attention to detail is second to none.
Complimentary home baked Bakewell tart, fresh milk if needed and an even honesty bar whereby you are trusted to serve your own drinks and settle upon departure.
Never came across this before at any hotel stay, just shows what genuine good people the owners are.
The hotel is immaculate, tastefully decorated and only a few moments stroll to the sea front.
We had the best nights sleep, mattress was extremely comfortable and bed linen was of high quality.
Lovely freshly cooked breakfast made to order with additional fresh continental offerings available.
This hotel failed to disappoint we can’t wait to visit again.
