«Three ladies stayed for two nights. We wish the hotel provided hair drier and shoehorn in the room. We reserved for three adults but towels, coffee cops and glasses provided for only two people. The drain at the tub was very slow. Almost everything was fixed after we addressed. We were very disappointed because the steam sauna was out of order and one of my friends was hit by the ball that other guests were playing with water ball inside of the pool. I wish there was sign not to play with a ball inside of the pool. I think it is very common not to play the ball inside of the pool especially there were many people inside of the pool.»

Service was extremely poor, multiple times we asked to book the airport shuttle (for the next day). They said oh sorry we haven't printed the sheet yet, as it was going to be the next month, we'll make a note of it. This happened 3 times. They even told us to come back the next morning to confirm, but it didn't happen. Seems like communication between the hotel staff is severely lacking, as are preparations for standard operations like printing a simple piece of paper for the airport shuttle 😂😂😂 We told the staff three separate times and each time, a piece of note with our room number was written. Still, that didn't work. What worked was, on the day, an hour before, we stated our request and yay they have the August schedule printed and we managed to book the shuttle!
On another note (pun intended), we wanted to book because we saw on a sign that there's free shuttle. It was only the second staff who informed us that it's free booking, but the ride itself is $10CAD/person, which is fine. Management should always ensure fees are clearly stated.»

«A very friendly and helpful front desk staff made check-in a great experience, offering plenty of assistance and useful introductions to the area—truly professional and sophisticated service. The lobby was welcoming with drinks, fruits, muffins, and candies, which was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated.
While the room wasn’t large, it was clean, neat, and comfortable. The highlight for me was the three EV chargers available on-site, which easily earned this hotel a 5-star rating from me. I will definitely stay here again in the future!»

«Room was average, but I was placed in a room with a connecting door to another room, and there was very little sound insulation between the two rooms. I could also see light coming through the cracks around the hallway door.
Since this hotel is near the airport, many guests are likely staying there before or after travel and may already be on limited sleep. Because of that, I’m not sure I would recommend this hotel if a quiet room is important.
That said, the staff were great, and I appreciated the free shuttle.»

UUsuario invitadoWe stayed at Royal Canadian Lodge in Banff from March 26–29 with my 7-year-old daughter, and overall we had a great experience.
Check-in was simple and straightforward. We arrived in the early evening, and Jason at the front desk was the most approachable and helpful hotel staff member I have ever dealt with. He remembered my daughter’s name, greeted her every day, checked in with us throughout our stay, and added little touches that made the trip feel extra special for both of us.
The renovated room itself was fairly standard for a hotel room, but comfortable. Our room had two queen beds, which worked well for us. The bathroom had a shower only, with no bathtub, but that was not an issue. The pillows were big and lumpy, all 8 of the pillows in our room were too high/tall for my daughter to use comfortably. There are robes provided in the room, it would be a nice touch if they could also provide kids size robes. We had a mini fridge, coffee maker with coffee, and kettle with tea provided in the room.
We ordered room service one night and tried the pulled pork poutine, which was the daily special from the restaurant. Unfortunately, it was not very good, and I would not recommend it.
The TV included free cable and on-demand programming, as well as pay-per-view movies. I had brought my laptop and an HDMI cord, and we were able to connect it to the TV easily to watch our own movies. Watching on-demand, my daughter discovered The Simpsons and loved it (lol)
The pool area was a big highlight for us. The pool is salt water rather than chlorine. The water itself was on the cooler side, but there was also a good-sized hot tub and a large steam room. My daughter quickly made friends with another family staying at the hotel, and the kids spent multiple hours a day in the pool together.
The gym was small but functional. In the four days we were there, it was empty every time we walked by.
Parking is $20 per day, which does add up. There is also free street parking behind the hotel if you are able to find a spot.
One fun feature in the lobby was the robot, which the kids absolutely loved. We were told that after construction is complete, it will be delivering items to guest rooms. During our stay it moved around the lobby, told jokes, and handed out free apples.
The hotel was reasonably priced compared with other options in the area. I chose it specifically for the pool setup, knowing we would be spending a lot of time there, and it worked out really well for that. Shops and restaurants on the main street were about a 10-minute walk away, or you could take the bus that stops outside the neighboring hotel for $2 per ride, with kids riding free.
I would definitely stay here again in the future. The price, location, rooms, and pool make this a very family-friendly hotel option in Banff.

-Clean room with comfortable beds
-Shower had lots of hot water and good water pressure. -nice clean waterpark with helpful and friendly attendant who did not rush us at the end of the night when our young kiddo was dragging his feet to avoid having to leave - heated pools and 2 water slides made the hotel more appealing for us with having our kids along Cons: - the waterpark slides did not have enough of an angle so we couldn’t get down the slides with out having to propel ourselves at times which was odd but also nearly comical
-tiny rooms especially for the price. It felt a bit cramped with the limited furniture and the kids on pull out sofa. - the bathroom door provided zero privacy from the rest of the room with no sound barrier, plus it had a “frosted” glass panel as the main part of the door so it was completely see through, and was a tiny bathroom. - no in room microwave so we missed out on being able to heat up leftover takeout from our trip to help us keep costs down and reduce waste unless my husband went hunting for one to use on the main floor, but that was quite a hike when we are on 4th floor so food was cooled right down by the time it made it back to our room. - ordering from the menu at the onsite breakfast restaurant was expensive and the food was quite disappointing. My kids seemed to enjoy the breakfast buffet at least which was free for 5 & under at least.

Hotel bar has been closed for a while but not advertised when booking! This is a ski resort and we traveled as a large group (4 rooms) with mixed age group inc teens and kids so a hotel bar is critical for us!
The fact that the main bar was closed and no apré ski drinks in the bar should have been advertised. Frankly I’m on holiday and without an operational / open bar I would have booked elsewhere!
I was only informed via email after the free cancellation period was up which meant I loose money if I cancel and more so will be challenged to find elsewhere!
I only found out after a email from hotel a few weeks before checking! When I challenged management via email, I was informed the bar area was moved to the restaurant, I said this is not acceptable and bar closure should have been advertised on booking … was told the above, and a sorry and subsequently ignored thereafter !
Not ideal as the restaurant is not a bar - more so it was pretty weird having drinks upstairs and more so when a few folk start to come up for dinner or the restaurant starts to set up for dinner buffet.
Management did offer some of my party a credit, but not me and just ignored my concern.Shame really!
I don’t want to take the good positive vide away from the hotel so would like to big up

HHuhu01Stayed at the Holiday Inn Calgary Airport (IHG). The location is very convenient for the airport and surrounding routes, and the overall cleanliness of the property was excellent—both the rooms and common areas were well maintained.
Amenities are fairly basic, so travellers expecting extensive facilities may find them somewhat limited. Unfortunately, the service was on the poorer end of the spectrum during my stay.
One point future guests should be aware of: the booking information on the hotel’s website states that a deposit is required, but it does not clearly specify that this must be provided strictly via credit card. Staff indicated that this policy is standard at hotels worldwide; however, as an experienced traveller, I can confirm that many hotels do in fact accept debit cards for deposits.
To avoid any issues at check-in, make sure you bring a credit card with you.
Overall: great location and cleanliness, basic amenities, but service and clarity around deposit policies could certainly be improved.

UUsuario invitadoWe chose this hotel at random while driving down the highway. We were VERY glad that we did. The following day, we kept congratulating ourselves on the great choice.
It was very easy easy to get to off the highway. But yet it was protected from the busy highway noise.
The staff were absolutely 5-Star. Every single individual that we encountered, both hotel and restaurant, seemed to be genuinely friendly and professional. Specail shout-out to: Jei, Jasmeen, and Maltin. ( hopefully i got the correct names)
We used the pool in the evening, and it was a surprisingly nice facility for the price of the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed it until an excessively noisy family showed up with undisciplined kids. But that's not on the hotel.
I don't know why the restaurant was empty because it was exceptionally good food and good service. Even the breakfast buffet was far above most free breakfasts that are on offer.
The guestrooms were very quiet (even the a/c fan was quiet). Beds were comfortable. Good quality linens, pillows and towels. Beds were especially comfortable and seemed new. Carpet looked new.
The only thing I might suggest for the rooms is that they might add a floor lamp to improve the lighting. Also, they might think about bringing up the quality of bathroom amenities to current trend in higher quality in larger affixed bottles instead of small disposables
It's obvious that they're gradually upgrading an older property and haven't gotten to the hallway paint yet. But that doesn't affect the guestrooms experience.
I highly recommend this property.
