We stayed at Royal Canadian Lodge in Banff from March 26–29 with my 7-year-old daughter, and overall we had a great experience. Check-in was simple and straightforward. We arrived in the early evening, and Jason at the front desk was the most approachable and helpful hotel staff member I have ever dealt with. He remembered my daughter’s name, greeted her every day, checked in with us throughout our stay, and added little touches that made the trip feel extra special for both of us. The renovated room itself was fairly standard for a hotel room, but comfortable. Our room had two queen beds, which worked well for us. The bathroom had a shower only, with no bathtub, but that was not an issue. The pillows were big and lumpy, all 8 of the pillows in our room were too high/tall for my daughter to use comfortably. There are robes provided in the room, it would be a nice touch if they could also provide kids size robes. We had a mini fridge, coffee maker with coffee, and kettle with tea provided in the room. We ordered room service one night and tried the pulled pork poutine, which was the daily special from the restaurant. Unfortunately, it was not very good, and I would not recommend it. The TV included free cable and on-demand programming, as well as pay-per-view movies. I had brought my laptop and an HDMI cord, and we were able to connect it to the TV easily to watch our own movies. Watching on-demand, my daughter discovered The Simpsons and loved it (lol) The pool area was a big highlight for us. The pool is salt water rather than chlorine. The water itself was on the cooler side, but there was also a good-sized hot tub and a large steam room. My daughter quickly made friends with another family staying at the hotel, and the kids spent multiple hours a day in the pool together. The gym was small but functional. In the four days we were there, it was empty every time we walked by. Parking is $20 per day, which does add up. There is also free street parking behind the hotel if you are able to find a spot. One fun feature in the lobby was the robot, which the kids absolutely loved. We were told that after construction is complete, it will be delivering items to guest rooms. During our stay it moved around the lobby, told jokes, and handed out free apples. The hotel was reasonably priced compared with other options in the area. I chose it specifically for the pool setup, knowing we would be spending a lot of time there, and it worked out really well for that. Shops and restaurants on the main street were about a 10-minute walk away, or you could take the bus that stops outside the neighboring hotel for $2 per ride, with kids riding free. I would definitely stay here again in the future. The price, location, rooms, and pool make this a very family-friendly hotel option in Banff. Biggest thank you to Jason at the front desk for the spectacular service we enjoyed.

The hotel is very conveniently located in downtown Edmonton, within walking distance to attractions and public transport. Hotel staff were friendly and hospitable. I do, however, think the hotel is in need of a renovation to modernise it as the interiors and fixtures were outdated. The hotel could also help with the room doors as their opening and closing can be loud and disruptive if trying to sleep. For a next trip to Edmonton, I would stay again.

Es un hotel estupendo. El personal es muy amable y atento, y resolvieron todos mis problemas a la perfección, haciéndome sentir genial. Limpiaron la habitación rápidamente y, si lo necesitas, puedes pedir un hervidor de agua en recepción.

This is my second visit this time it was perfect they renovated it since i walked in smells sooo clean and fresh the housekeeping manger sooo helpful and kind The buffet for dinner amazing Indian cuisine over all very nice experience especially at the pool

Service was fine, they gave us warm cookies upon arrival and check out. The pool and fitness rooms were clean, and the rooms were tidy, though they were a bit dark from lack of lighting. A couple of things to note: the mattresses were extremely soft (even as someone who prefers soft mattresses), it felt like I was slowly sinking into the floor. The soundproofing is also quite weak, so I would recommend sleeping with earplugs or it may be hard to sleep with guests running around. One more thing to note was that the balcony door was not locked when we checked in. Since we are on the 7th floor it was safe, however next time I would double check just in case, because there are many people visiting the hotel for functions and events.

Overall it was a decent stay here. Pros: -Clean room with comfortable beds -Shower had lots of hot water and good water pressure. -nice clean waterpark with helpful and friendly attendant who did not rush us at the end of the night when our young kiddo was dragging his feet to avoid having to leave - heated pools and 2 water slides made the hotel more appealing for us with having our kids along Cons: - the waterpark slides did not have enough of an angle so we couldn’t get down the slides with out having to propel ourselves at times which was odd but also nearly comical -tiny rooms especially for the price. It felt a bit cramped with the limited furniture and the kids on pull out sofa. - the bathroom door provided zero privacy from the rest of the room with no sound barrier, plus it had a “frosted” glass panel as the main part of the door so it was completely see through, and was a tiny bathroom. - no in room microwave so we missed out on being able to heat up leftover takeout from our trip to help us keep costs down and reduce waste unless my husband went hunting for one to use on the main floor, but that was quite a hike when we are on 4th floor so food was cooled right down by the time it made it back to our room. - ordering from the menu at the onsite breakfast restaurant was expensive and the food was quite disappointing. My kids seemed to enjoy the breakfast buffet at least which was free for 5 & under at least.

El hotel está en una zona de vacaciones y no hay ningún bar de esquí apre. ¡No me informó hasta que el período de cancelación libre se había terminado, lo que significaba que perdí dinero si cancelé y más así sería difícil encontrar en otro lugar! ¡Sólo me encontré después de un correo electrónico del hotel unas semanas antes de comprobar! Cuando me rechacé la gestión por correo electrónico, me informó de que la zona del bar fue trasladada al restaurante, dije que esto no es aceptable y el cierre del bar debería haber sido anunciado en la reserva ... se dijo anteriormente, y una disculpa y posteriormente ignorado después ! No ideal, ya que el restaurante no es un bar - más, así que era muy raro tener bebidas arriba y más cuando unos pocos comienzan a cenar o el restaurante comienza a preparar un buffet para cenar. La gestión ofreció un crédito a algunos de mi partido, pero no a mí y simplemente ignoró mi preocupación. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Calgary Airport (IHG). The location is very convenient for the airport and surrounding routes, and the overall cleanliness of the property was excellent—both the rooms and common areas were well maintained. Amenities are fairly basic, so travellers expecting extensive facilities may find them somewhat limited. Unfortunately, the service was on the poorer end of the spectrum during my stay. One point future guests should be aware of: the booking information on the hotel’s website states that a deposit is required, but it does not clearly specify that this must be provided strictly via credit card. Staff indicated that this policy is standard at hotels worldwide; however, as an experienced traveller, I can confirm that many hotels do in fact accept debit cards for deposits. To avoid any issues at check-in, make sure you bring a credit card with you. Overall: great location and cleanliness, basic amenities, but service and clarity around deposit policies could certainly be improved.

We chose this hotel at random while driving down the highway. We were VERY glad that we did. The following day, we kept congratulating ourselves on the great choice. It was very easy easy to get to off the highway. But yet it was protected from the busy highway noise. The staff were absolutely 5-Star. Every single individual that we encountered, both hotel and restaurant, seemed to be genuinely friendly and professional. Specail shout-out to: Jei, Jasmeen, and Maltin. ( hopefully i got the correct names) We used the pool in the evening, and it was a surprisingly nice facility for the price of the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed it until an excessively noisy family showed up with undisciplined kids. But that's not on the hotel. I don't know why the restaurant was empty because it was exceptionally good food and good service. Even the breakfast buffet was far above most free breakfasts that are on offer. The guestrooms were very quiet (even the a/c fan was quiet). Beds were comfortable. Good quality linens, pillows and towels. Beds were especially comfortable and seemed new. Carpet looked new. The only thing I might suggest for the rooms is that they might add a floor lamp to improve the lighting. Also, they might think about bringing up the quality of bathroom amenities to current trend in higher quality in larger affixed bottles instead of small disposables It's obvious that they're gradually upgrading an older property and haven't gotten to the hallway paint yet. But that doesn't affect the guestrooms experience. I highly recommend this property.
