I stayed at The Ocean Pearl on my visit to Udupi. I was there for work & stayed with them for 3 nights. Here are my ratings for some of the areas that I feel are important for travellers to know : 1. Location (4 out of 5) : The location is not absolutely at the heart of Udupi. But then, Udupi is not a huge city, it's a town. You can reach anywhere in 7-10 mins. 2. Check-in (5 out of 5) : My room was ready when I arrived, the check in process was over in less than 5 mins. If you are expecting a welcome drink, well that's not available. 3. Room (4.5 out of 5) : The rooms are pretty decent sized for 2 people. Since I was alone, it was more than adequate. The cooling was effective and the linens were clean. The view from my room was not very good. 4. Bathroom (4 out of 5) : They do not provide hand towels - just bathing towels. The toiletries they provide are avoidable - the soap, shampoo, body lotion etc. I'd prefer you carry yours. But towels are replaced daily, and the fresh towels smell excellent. 5. Food (5 out of 5) : I loved the food they served me. From the ghee roast to the beg thaali. Simply superb! The breakfast seemed repetitive - especially, the poori bhaaji, dosa, idli, upma & sheera. But I guess, in a way, that's what people also prefer. The bhaaji with the poori is to die for. Don't miss ghee roast pomfret - it's divine. The fish just melts away. 6. Room Service (5 out of 5) : I think their service has improved dramatically. Anything that I ordered was delivered within max 15-20 minutes. 7. Staff (5 out of 5) : Very helpful & courteous. It was a pleasure to speak with them. All in all, I feel it's a 4 out of 5 for me.

Kediyoor is amongst the oldest and most conveniently located 3 star accomodation option when staying in udupi. It is right next to Udupi bus depot and walking distance to Shri Krishna mutt , City Center mall etc. Entire Udipi shopping areas can be traversed on foot and manipal is also about only 4 kms away. The Hotel has a veg and non veg restaurant below besides a pizza joint and also a bakery/ confectionery store below. Food served in the restaurants is of superb quality and taste although may be a tad more expensive than the joints nearby. We stayed in a super deluxe room with a Jhula and the rooms was quite spacious and clean. Only thing the corridors are quite dark and not well lit. The room service was prompt and courteous. Only thing to be noted is this is a slightly older 3 Star property - so if you keep that in mind in terms of expectations- one is unlikely to be responded.

We loved our stay at Jyoti Residency. Will definitely recommend anyone going there to stay there. Spacious clean rooms and close to the temple. Very few hotels out there who can provide the services like them. We were lucky to get 2 rooms there as someone had cancelled by the time we got in to their hotel around 9.30pm. Scouted a dozen hotels in and around the area but did not find any clean and tidy for a family of 4 to stay. Out of desperation, would have ended up taking some lodge hadn't I tried my luck at Jyoti Residency. Always suggest everyone to book hotels before going to such places. We had gone during Ugadi so almost all hotels were completely booked for the night. Would like to thank Biju and his team at the reception desk who were helpful throughout our stay and always wore a smile. Would like to specially call out to Tikko (housekeeping staff) who got my severe bout of shivering to a halt with his hand and leg massage and Reji Annan (their in-house driver) who drove me all the way to the nearby hospital that is 30kms away (Adarsha Hospital, Kundapura Highway) at around 1am in the night and got me back to the room safely by 3.30am. I'm really happy that there are such good people in this friendly temple town who goes out of their way to help you (something that was missing in our previous day stay in an overhyped Cafe, Gokarna).

En general, este resort necesita una renovación inmediata. La recepción me dijo que no podían ofrecer la misma. Por último, desde que nos quedamos aquí durante la temporada de Navidad, el precio que se cobraba fue 2.5 veces de las tarifas normales. El precio no justificó los puntos que he mencionado anteriormente. Desafortunadamente, para mí no parecía ser valor por dinero.

JASMINE LAND HOME STAY is located in Subhasnagar. It is widespread about 1.15 acres of fertile land. Located right next to the main bus stand, about 500 mts from the krishna temple, this is an excellent property for overnight stay. Very suitable for family of two adults and child children. For people coming on own car, very good basement parking facility is available. Room is good, maintenance is of high standards, staff reception and hospitality was also good. Very much recommended by me.

Place is very good...not luxurious...but it's budget friendly and nice to stay if ur bachelor. Reception person is very good and he will also guide u which place to visit in Udupi and manipal
